I'm all for new ideas for ex offenders. Try something new as a trial in an area of the country. Judge the results and either scrap it or use it over the rest of the country.
What we are doing now doesn't seem too effective.

Rewarding criminal behaviour is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of and anyone going along with it is just as dumb, I've worked on schemes like this before and even though it is destined to fail it WILL be hailed as a success mark my words.

Spot on ,what is it with this country sell drugs and we'll give you driving lessons for free so you can drive round selling drugs from your car bought through illegal activities, clueless some people!!!

If you're good at sport, they might even forget all about it and send you to the Olympics too

I don't think it's a reward. Nobody is going to deal drugs at the prospect of free boxing classes or driving lessons. Nor do I really envision anybody really thinking it's worth being caught offending for.

It isn’t a reward though. Look those kids have disengaged. They aren’t responding to the typical norms we have of working hard to achieve success.

Either we TRY something new to try and engage these kids or we write them off as career criminals.
