ona boring note, its because you have to be well organised and raise a lot of cash for charity to get a number, therefor the vast majority of chavs cant be arsed

id like to see the demographic of runners though, seem to be mostly white (aside from the elite runners) by the looks of it, wonder if they do a tick box as per normal with ethnicity and colour etc. any one got any stats?

98% of statistics are inaccurate.

They're far to busy smashing empty lambrusco bottles outside peoples homes and where folks take their dogs for a walk, no time left to do anything else.

Of course and they certainly have it off to a T mate, walked the dog this morning over the footy fields, they've been hard at it all night by the looks of it, mounds of empty Fosters tins and wine bottles, pizza cartons etc strewn all over the pitches and for good measure they thought they'd pull the goal posts out too.
I bet they're sleeping soundly now, content in the knowledge that once again they've succeeded in enhancing the lives of the local community, bless their little cotton socks.

It does not matter where you go now all over the country, the problems are the same, with similar tales from the locals, someone needs to get a grip and this Big society is doomed to failure in my eyes, good in principle, but funding will not be enough and the volunteering public will be left short

It's frightening to think what their kids are going to be like!! fortunately there's a good chance that I wont be around to see it, (thank God) I'm pleased I was born when I was, I'd hate to be a young man now, the future looks f***ing bleak.

That's horrible that is. How come you guys don't have a better recycle system in place where you get money back from every bottle you buy ? 96% of all bottles and cans here are taken back to the shops for recycling. Each can or plain bottle gives you 1.50 kroner (about 17p) back. The bigger the bottles the more they give back (3 kroner or about 34p for a 1.5 litre bottle). If something similar came into place in the UK these young people would maybe think a second time before breaking them onto the ground like that ?

We had that system in place when I was a kid, a nice little earner it was too, now they make you throw it all in a plastic bin and pack it just so for them, so they can take it away and make the profit off it!

That doesn't sound very nice. I have fond memories of going around with a mate and his four wheel woodden thingy and collect empty bottles when the annual Open Air music festival was on here each Summer. We could earn our pocket money back many times over in just the three days the music event was on.

The recycle fee is added to the price when you buy a beer or a soft drink here and you then get the fee back when you hand the cans or bottles back in for recycling. If something similar was put in place at your end again these young people throwing them away willydilly will have to pay more for their drinks in the first place and would probably think one more time before smashing the bottles up or leave them everywhere. Am sure they wouldn't want to throw money away like that.

Do you reckon the system could return ?

I doubt it? the councils are making the money from recycling and they push
the work load (minimal though it is) on to the house owner even though the rates we pay, already cover domestic waste, they save paying workers to sort it out.
Like you mate I earned a nice few bob looking round for bottles when we were kids, we even used to climb over pub walls, throw bottles over to our mates, then take them back to claim the refund..;)

How delightfully naughty.

Mind, it sounds like your councils are naughty, too. :-(

charvers would still smash them. they exist to piss other people off

This is true, I've watched school kids come out of chip shops in their dinner break and just throw a full bag of chips onto the floor, then pore the contents of a full can of pop out, even seen them throwing money away, small change! but never the less, how f***ing stupid is that.
