First thing. Don’t rely on players that people have seen. Look at the data to see who is performing well, who has the attributes we’d like to see, who plays like successful players further up the pyramid. Once you’ve got that data - and are clear which positions you want to recruit in, only then go out and watch that shortlist.

Check the details of that 6’5” Nigerian kid centre half on loan at Almeria from one of the Istanbul clubs.

I recommended a 17yr old Dean Holdsworthand and a similar aged Jonathan De Guzman to a family friend who worked behind the scenes at safc years ago.
