Yorkshire vs Notts

its 4 day cricket loads of teams go at 3 an over
I understand how 4 day cricket works, but most teams go at around 3.5, all of division 1s games this week have apart from Yorkshire down at 3. And they regularly do so.

Its obviously working for them. I just find them very dull

the extra 0.5 cant make much difference to excitement surely fair play to them as you say have a young talented team and are going to win the league and they have missed there best players lots.

Would have been another 90 runs or so but i kinda get your point. Missed Root for the most part of the year, Ballance and Plunkett a little less. They have got a good young crop of steady batsmen

Comfortably the best side in the competition this year. Loads of home produced players in their first team they should be applauded. It looks like they are going to be strong for a few years to come, their Academy have just won the Yorkshire Premier League with two rounds of matches to play and they have had 9 players represent England at u19 or u17 level this season.

Echo the sentiments about them being far and away the best side in the league BUT do feel their 'brand' of cricket is dull. This may be misguided on the basis of what I've seen but in the two Sky games they've had this year, us and Notts - they've batted first and scored big but very slowly and very turgidly.

It isn't a good advert for proper cricket, people who fancied watching the cricket over the last two days who don't support either side probably won't tune into Days 3 and 4. That said - that's not Yorkshire's concern and in fairness if we were in their shoes I wouldn't give a shite. They're trying to grind Notts into the dirt and it's hard to see past them winning this game and the league with it.

Losing to Durham?
Winning titles, look in the record books, they don't lie ;)

IMHO that is proper cricket , leave the easily accessible entertainment for the pyjama game .

I'd rather see a game of 250-300 plays 250-300 than a team scoring 500 that wins by an innings.

But I love the contest between bat and ball which seems to be going out of the game in the short time I've watched it.
