On reflection looking at Durhams one day cricket in both t20 and 50 over this season it does really make you realize how in particular Mustard but also Stoneman papered over some pretty big cracks in our batting over the past good few seasons.
The lack of either strokeplay or power from the current batsmen is alarming. Its not as if we don't produce batsmen who can do it Stokes is just a natural but Jennings was a revelation in the one day stuff last season. But tonight watching Richardson and Collingwood our 2 most expierenced batsmen looking clueless was shocking.

I think its fair to say there is a long list of them at durham who are considered all rounders especially the youngish pace bowlers. They all look like they can hold a bat but don't score enough runs, but Weighell shapes up as well as most. Surely they have got to start shaking it up and try and find someone who can hit a few sixes in the first power play overs. I think it would help Clark as well who looks our best one day player but is not a blaster. Was pretty much a batsman only really when he was with the Academy first time around or he was once he left anyway and I think a read an injury stopped him bowling much. Now he's reinvented as a strike bowler who bats 9 or 10 (!)
When He made his Durham debut I thought he might bat 6 or 7 tbh going off that.
