Year End Reviews / Appraisals

A few years ago I got a 4 (out of 5) two years running on the annual appraisal which entitled me to do a qualification that would allow me to move up a pay grade/salary band. This was worth about £3k and much better than the 0.75% pay rise I could have took instead.

Took 11 months to do the qualification and when I went for the upgrade they said "sorry, you took to long and it's timed out". To rub it in i didnt even get the 0.75% either.

“So officer, how many ethnic minorities did you stop and search for no reason this month?”

Who would have thought you couldn’t take a joke eh officer?

@Arkle, you're doing superbly at your job but unless you learn how to shit rainbows whilst walking backwards on your hands and simultaneously singing the Eritrean national anthem, you're not going to get promotion yet. One of the main reasons I moved from my last job to my current one last year.

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are going to need annual discussions with one of their peers or a supervisor in order to reregister each year. The GPhC is not telling them what they should discuss, just that there should be some benefits to the patients from the discussion.

In the tea room it was suggested that Sunderland’s fortunes could be a topic of discussion and consideration made of the best way to support fans through their sorrows!

It's every 4 months.

1st is to agree main goals for the year, there will have been informal chats before hand to get this in place. 2nd is a progress thing. 3rd is the year end shit.

Agree main goal for the year
Mid year
end of year
4th did you score?

It' the same with teaching and CPD. As long as you have a discussion (or even don't) but document that you do and it was worthwhile, you're fine. A right load of bollocks.

Ours run from april but I try and continuously update them throughout the year so there is less to do all in one go however I am moving boroughs next month so someone else is going to benefit from my for once organised ways. No doubt I will inherit the usual mess where return to works have been outstanding for months etc
Look at me.

Started this morning doing the 5 I need to get done, I’m now sitting on the pot with only 1 complete, and 4 needing to be done before midnight. I can motivate myself to do most laborious things, but these bloody things I really struggle with.
Hoy them up here and gives us a pop, use the best ones (go in blind) for the review.

You don't work for British Engines do you?
When I worked there we had to do the same....totally f***ing pointless

360 appraisals are utter bollocks. A complete waste of all the contributors time. My appraisal took about 5 minutes in 2017 and I haven't had one in 2018.
2017 went is everything ok for you since you started here a few months back?' 'Aye. I'd tell you if it wasn't' 'No bother then' 'Smashing, is that it?' 'Aye'.
