Started to get a few bits in the last time we went shopping. Just gets hoyed in a cupboard out the way until we forget about it.
Then we buy loads of stuff closer to Christmas, then have far too much stuff, then when people come round they don't eat it because they've done the same and when we go to other people's houses they've got a load of food out that we can't touch because we've been right fat bastards at home.

Don't land till the afternoon of the 23rd Dec, so I'll be in Tesco's at 6am opening time on the 24th for the big shop, any time after mid-morning it's chaos, as found out last year.

Just read on Wikipedia about the origins of Xmas. I'd always disliked it but it's been around a very long time. Also some Christian groups hate it as the omission of the word christ implies a more pagan festival. Which probably fits for most of us - jesus doesn't get a look in
