X factor substitutes

It is absolute b****** as is 100 or whatever it is called. Test cricket is the game but the people in charge cannot see past T20.

What a load of shite. Not a T20 hater by any means but it’s fine as it is.

It’s a bit of an Aussie trait to change things in sport for the sake of it for the purposes of “entertainment” mind

Better off introducing
Tipply Run
Last Man Stands
6 and out if ball leaves the ground.
Rules that have stood the test of time

Laughable idea, its a good competition so im not sure why they have came out with these zany ideas.

It was a few years ago like, well good as in good crowds, but they over did it, vastly increased the number of games, and crowds are down, the standard is shocking too

these new rules though, god, expect a tweet from Michael Vaughan praising them any second

How does the batting one work?

Allowed to sub someone who 'hasn't batted for more than one over'? What does that actually mean? Someone gets six balls and if it looks like they're struggling they get subbed? Some of the best innings I've seen are where someone has started slowly then suddenly gone berserk in the last three or four overs of their innings to either set a massive score or chase down a seemingly impossible one.

' Cricket is a game for enthusiasts; it always has been. It would be a shame if, for the sake of the non - enthusiast's gate-money, the game the enthusiast follows were ever debased. The marginal spectator might come once to see cover point fielding on roller skates, but he would not return. And when he went out, he would be followed by the old regulars' - John Arlott (1961)
