Wyke going cost us promotion

It`s one of the biggest mysteries in my time supporting us. Helmer was absolute class before he joined and still after he left. I just can`t understand why he wasn`t a regular in the etam

Fell out with Adrian "wanker" Heath, due to his abject unprofessionalism.

Tries but is pretty much useless at everything, doesn't even foul well.
If he is spearheading our attack next season we will fail again 100% guaranteed.

Someone like Gnanduillet from Blackpool (free transfer) would play that role so much better and effective than him!
My 5' 2" granny could play that position better than he - and she's been dead since 1969

I hope it's not the same people here criticising him who were saying how important he was and how well he was playing during our good run in Jan/Feb when it was clear we were winning despite of him not because of him. He is truly a terrible footbaler who doesn't even try to make up for it in effort.

Given the probability of a salary cap on L1 we need to sack Parkinson and get someone in who can utilise our greatest liability (Grigg) to better effect. Hell be sitting twiddling his thumbs on 3X the average L1 wage while Parkinson persists in playing Wyke. A manager who can set up to show Grigg to best effect could give us a 20 goal striker.

Wyke and Grigg have both performed well at other clubs at some point, but it's been obvious for ages that neither are going to do it for us - time to get rid of both and start again.

Can’t believe people still think this could happen. It’s done, move both parties on. You know when he was scoring 20 a season? He was playing with Dele Alli (when at MK Dons) and Nick Powell (he is Ex Man U and now Stoke). We’re never going to get a tram around him who can prop him up to that extent. He needs worldies around him to make him look better than he is

Maybe you missed the bit about the salary cap. A £2.5m cap averages out at around £2,400/week or £125k/year for each member of a 20 man squad. Who in League one would buy a player from us on at least three times that.

He will move on and take the pay cut

FYI....

I watched Hauser in his first game for SAFC, if I recall correctly, and I’m old, it was a reserve game, the same game Nunez debuted. Let me tell you something, Hauser was different class, utterly comfortable on the ball and stroked it about like Beckenbauer. Hugely impressive. Tho I haven’t googled it I seem to recall he had 30 + caps for zee Jeermans. You don’t get that many if you are crap. To this day I can’t understand why he never got in first team ( I don’t think. Was long time ago )

He never played for Germnay mind mate

He’ll be moving on with a pay cut. May not be a third but he’ll go. Mate I’ll buy you a pint of it doesnt happen this season

I'm not saying he won't leave the club but if he does we won't get a fee and he won't get anywhere near £7500/week....which means essentially that the club have lost £3m in 18 months PLUS they'll be subsidising his wage. More likely is that he'll go on loan where we'll still be paying the bulk of his wage. What I'm suggesting is getting rid of the dinosaur manager and get someone in who can not only give the fans something better to watch but might just get the best out of a player we know can score consistently at this level.

Apart from being generally a poor footballer. I've never seen a 6ft2 player and supposed 'target man' so weak.

I think in order to have a chance at another club, (he's had his chances for us) he needs to get weight-lifting in the gym (should have been doing so in lockdown), put some weight on in muscle and concentrate on trying to be an actual 'target man' moving forward. He's got the height. He'll never have the pace. Hurts my eyes seeing a player attempt a target man role so poorly 20 odd years or so after being blessed to see a proper number 9 in Sir Niall Quinn.

Why would we be subsidising his wage if he is sold? Agree, problem is he needs worldies around him to make him look good that we simply cannot afford. He had Dele Alli at MK Dons and Nick Powell at Wigan - these were the times he had his 20 goal seasons. He’s hidden behind better talent throughout his career which is fair enough until now

Because that's how the system works. He won't be sold for a fee as we've absolutely destroyed any residual value left in the lad and as I keep pointing out no club in L1 can afford anywhere near £7500/week and no club in the Championship will want him as he's never proved he can operate there.
