When is this decided? Just realised I'm on call and have to go through the grovelling of a swap if it's on. Cheers

Missed Southen so havent been to a home in fecking ages. I’ll be a little pissed off if its scrapped the week prior without a hint it may be.
Feel for exiles/away fans more.

Whatever is decided then the club/ross will be slagged by some. Call it off and people lose out on money, fixtures after become important as lose and 'we should have played to keep momentum'. However if we play and dont win then people say he should have called it off as we didn't have our full strength side.

Personally i'd play. Likely only missing McLaughlin, Flanagan and Oviedo, the latter hasn't been playing. The biggest miss will be McLaughlin, but Ruiter is a competent no2 especially in league 1. He had a few poor games last season, but it didnt help when he had an awful defense/team ahead of him. Flanagan will be a miss as he's formed a good partnership with Baldwin, but Loovens is fit again and can slot in there. His experience might be better against Akinfenwa.

I can't believe some people are wanting the game to be off. That would mean potentially we would have had one Saturday home game in about 10 weeks. Fuck that

Ruiter isn't as bad as some are making out, he was the best of a bad bunch last season and looks better this year too. Done well in pre season and the checks trade games.

Ruiter playing also helps us meet the rules for playing him at Morecambe.

GK doesnt count towards the quota required

True but even that doesn't cover how few limitations there are:

7.3 Each EFL Club shall play its Full Available Strength in and during all Matches. Full Available Strength means the EFL Club must include at least four Qualifying Players in the ten outfield Players named in the starting eleven on the Team Sheet.

7.4 Qualifying Player means any Player who:

7.4.1 had started the immediately preceding First Team Fixture (as defined below);

7.4.2 subsequently starts the immediately following First Team Fixture;

7.4.3 is in the list of ten Players at the Club with the highest number of starting appearances in First Team Fixtures in the same Season;

7.4.4 has made forty or more starting appearances in First Team Fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same Club or Season); or

7.4.5 is on standard loan from a Premier League Club or any EFL Club operating a Category One Academy.

Look at the one I've bolded, you need 4 players who've made 40 1st team starts in their career! Piece of piss.

And even then, the maximum fine is £5k.

Pass it on, sick of seeing people misunderstand this.

Those rules only apply to outfield players, so the GK could be anyone in the club. If you have 3 outfield players who tick the above and a GK who ticks the above you'd still get fined as its the outfield players they are saying needs to 'qualify'. Plenty ways around it, and for most clubs it should be easy enough to get a starting XI that tick enough boxes. Can remember before the rules changed a few seasons back (1st year with U23's) that a team made 3 subs after 1min :lol: got their quota on the starting line up and took them off as didn't want to risk injury to them

Would be class if we got beat 1-0 and Ruiter made one of his calamitys, imagine the meltdown on here.

Always play yer strongest team if possible, Wycombe are no mugs and some are ahead of themselves if they think it will be a gimme.

I'm just tired of people thinking we need to have a load of players play consecutive games to be within the rules.

Given our improved communication and increased consideration of the fans, I expect this game to be ON. If it was dependent upon McLaughlin then they'd have cancelled it as soon as the Scots squad was announced, I reckon.

Besides, I'm also coming up the north-east for a gig in that strange city 10 miles up the road on the Sat evening, so I'm sure JR will have accounted for that in his thoughts.

Yeah I think that happened for the Blackpool game I believe?

It isn't actually our decision yet as far as I'm aware? Only McLaughlin has been called up so would be dependent on Flanagan and Oviedo now, as Gooch and Matthews have both missed out on call ups. It's my understanding you need three first team players to request postponement?

It can’t be cancelled until 3 players are called up, but I think you are right it will go ahead.
