Was a Wycombe fan phoned in on radio Newcastle, living in Durham and his son was a Sunderland supporter. I couldn't imagine (wouldn't allow) my kids supporting another team. I suppose I'm just a cruel parent

I live down south (as do my son and in laws). Wasn't really feasible taking him to Sunderland games often and his grandad took him to Wycombe a lot. I'm proud as fuck he follows a team that he has a family connection with tbh and enjoys it, rather than jumping on the big club bandwagon.

My father in law brought me a brick in the wall at the SoL back in 1998 for a Christmas present. They were chuffed to bits to be able to go and see it in the flesh 20 years later (and probably never thought they would).

Just looked at you profile pic mate, where was that pub?

Deptford, down from the Oddfellows.

Not the three gardeners ?

thought Gareth Ainsworth was incredibly classy in the summer over the O'Nien deal and he was equally as complimentary last week as a pundit for the Port Vale game. I'd love him to take Wycombe up.

One of my staff lives near him (near Uxbridge), he is meant to be a really nice guy apparently.

Think all teams away fans have been spot on so far tbh, all come in good numbers, none played up (you'd have to be canny stupid to be fair) and virtually all of them been pretty loud given their numbers.

Loving life in league 1, loving that we are being well received and that our fans are not behaving like entitled wankers......Of course we want and probably expect our stay in this division to be pretty short lived but why not make friends while we are here and enjoy the ride.

The whole experience from take over to now has been fantastic and long may it continue. I never ever want to return to the days when we have utter bellends on £40k a week stealing a living from our club while barely being arsed to chuck a glance to the away fans after yet another abject performance let alone applaud the fans efforts.

We can never allow that disconnect between fans and players ever build again, there are great examples in the top flight of clubs where the fans and players seem to have a close bond (Leicester, Burnley, Huddersfield etc).....All about recruiting the right people with the right mentality imho. It can be done with top players, Jermaine Defoe proved that but for me attitude should be right up there with ability when it comes to recruitment. Too often we have had players with bags of ability who were just complete bellends and as such were worse than useless.

Glad you enjoyed it. Its a place I would have loved to visit, but never did.

Never too late. Stayed in Galle, Ella and Kandy, wouldn't go back to Galle in a hurry but the other two were great. Went on the prettiest train journey on the planet which was the highlight after the watching the England win in Galle.

I like Wycombes kit, very smart indeed. Hopefully they can play to that level for the rest of the season and get themselves further up the table, they seem like a decent bunch.

he's at it again. What a guy.

Gareth Ainsworth calls Sunderland the best team in League One

"What I’m really proud of is that we didn’t crumble. Once one (goal) comes at this fantastic football club, the fans are right behind them and it could easily have been two but we stood strong and could have nicked it, which maybe would have been a bit unfair but it was a great football game, I thought"

“There’s some fantastic names at this football club"

"they deserved their goal after the pressure they put on us in the last 15 minutes."

"to come here with the history it’s got"

What point?

They seem like a canny bunch. I've always had a soft spot for Wycombe.
That Maguire gives a fuck and winds up opposition players and fans by being a niggly bastard, as well as being good.

I used to live just outside High Wycombe. Only ever been to Adams Park to watch Wasps, but, went to a few Wycombe games at Loakes Park, during the Martin O'Neill era.

A lot of the Scunthorpe fans acted up, well documented on here.

"We're taking the piss" "We're taking the piss"- So I heard them chanting yesterday.

To be fair, for large portions of the game they were. I was impressed by how many supporters Wycombe brought overall and even though they had the upper hand for most of the game, they were much less arrogant in contrast to the Southend lot.
I heard that and it was irritating( although I don’t blame them)Fortunately we scored shortly afterwards.
