Wrestling - Part 3

I'm with you here like. Some characters are just better at one thing than another and it feels like Sheamus has been a face for ages. The way the fans are these days he was getting zero reaction as a mini Cena with shit spikey hair. At least now he's playing to strengths and has a look that separates him from the rest. I actually don't mind Sheamus when he's being a bastard. As long as they don't turn him into the typical Vince heel that is cowardly and runs away. If they go the Brock route and have him look solid for a good six months it could actually get him over because it fits his move set.

I think he fucked his big moment up last night. I've neer been impressed by him but he had a good hour of last night's broadcast to himself and he just didn't grasp it. I think putting Lawler next to him was them trying to save Byron because he was getting a fuck load of shit on Twitter - it was fairly clear Lawler was unprepared to go out there.
I'm watching it now (couldn't be arsed to stay up last night) and he's just bumbling his way through talking nonsense. He's not commenting on the action.

Some suggested he was like that due to direction but I've found that's generally how he calls things anyhow when on Smackdown, etc.

He was actually a wrestler that was signed to developmental that they weren't too keen on so was ushered into announcing/commentating. I've never been a fan. He's black though and looks good so he ticks the boxes for Vince trying to cover his own back.

And why is Adrian Neville called Neville now? It sounds so stupid.

Nee idea. It's a modern wrestling trend, shortening names. EC3 and Lashley in TNA for example, Big E (was Big E Langston before that), Antonio Cesaro to Cesaro, Mike Mizanin to The Miz, Conor O'Brian to just Konnor, Alexander Rusev to just Rusev, Rick Victor to Viktor.

Funnily enough Colt Cabana was moaning about it on Twitter earlier on.

Agreed about Sheamus like. Although I do hate all this 'Heels being over shite'.

I much prefer Corey Graves, although he is more of a colour commentator.

I saw rumours earlier that Cole is taking some time off and that WWE were talking to Chael Sonnen over Wrestlemania weekend about working together.

I might be just putting two and two together, but it does seem logical.

Seems like this 'season' of WWE is all about people stepping up.

Anyone know who that camera man that Brock F5'd was?

Jim Ross was at the NXT event before wrestlemania and wwe have supposedly offered him all sorts, fans were chanting his name during matches etc

I dunno if JR will ever work for them again but who knows. Maybe they're shitting themselves that he'll actually do well for GFW or someone similar.

He's an asset to any company to be honest. I'd love him to be involved with the booking of the NXT performers coming up to the main roster because he knows how to get people over where I think sometimes Vince doesn't.

Great Raw which hit a huge anti climax with a boring return to its old formula in the main event of a tag match including Kane and Big Show

Read my post from earlier mate about a post I saw on another forum. They have a severe lack of heels to pick from at the top of the card and as a result they have reverted to this shite.

I'd like to see an angle where Big Show and Kane are forced out of the authority and two new faces are brought in to maybe freshen that whole angle up but we'll see. Vince seems set on have two huge 'enforcers' so I don't really know who else they could use but its something to look at. If he hadn't been booked as a complete joke Titus O'Neill could be a mint enforcer but that ship has long sailed. Maybe it could be a way to repackage Swagger? Barrett? Blake and Murphy?

Very unlikely but he's a better worker than Kane or Big Show. I'm just throwing names out there, fantasy stuff.

He'll come back....

I think his attitude towards WWE on his podcasts are clear indicators of 1. he's bitter he's not still there and 2. he still cares deeply.

This.

If they'd put it in the following order it would have been much better:

Heyman promo.
US title match
8man tag.
Teaser about will he/won't he turn up.
Divas
Neville
Another teaser
IC title.
Main event.

Ending raw on the smash up, rather than the damp squib we got.

They're more bothered about those second hour numbers though, hence the placement of the smash up. All the best stuff tends to happen at the start of the 2nd hour these days.

I know. But after it happened, raw was a bit shit. I turned it off when the main event was announced. Doubt I was the only one.
