Wrestling - Part 3

Ah. Wyatt's past year is a great example. Best promo on the active roster, great character, great look, but it's going to take something drastic for his character to be taken seriously.

They should never have split the Wyatts, or had him lose to Cena. They clawed back his credibility when they took him off air and had him do the run in at Hell in a Cell but then stalled his progress again afterwards. This all stemmed from losing to Cena when he really shouldn't have done.
Dont believe in this you're in with a top star so you'll get the rub if you lose, never works like that.

Seen this on another forum and its intriguing.

This has been obvious for a while but watching Raw it really hit home just how stacked the good guy side of WWE is. Here's a rough order of the top faces (presentation, not popularity):

Brock Lesnar
John Cena
Roman Reigns
Randy Orton
Daniel Bryan
Ryback
Dean Ambrose
Dolph Ziggler

Obvously Brock is part-time and I've left off Rock, Sting & Taker but that's a fairly stacked list. 5 genuine main eventers and 3 guys who can have a TV main event any week and be taken seriously.

Then we go to the top heels. No Trips.

Seth Rollins
Rusev
Big Show
Kane
Sheamus
Bray Wyatt
Wade Barrett
Luke Harper

One proper heel main eventer (who got some of the biggest pops this past week). One guy who is genuinely ready to step up. Two absolute has beens. Two guys who never win. One freshly turned face. And Luke Harper.

It really does hammer home the issue. Too may heels who are a joke, a mad gimmick or have no credibility.

What's the solution? Is it on the roster or does it come from outside (or NXT)? As mentioned in the Raw thread, I'd turn Reigns and shift Kane & Show well out of the way.

It's not Adrian Neville, it's just Neville. Presumably the Geordie kernt forgot his first name.
Someone please hoy up a picture of Neville from auf weirdesehn pet

Can we just get rid of JBL?
He pissed me off too much when Rollins was running to cash in and I'm trying to take in the moment and JBL is just repeating over and over "THIS IS BRILLIANT" yeah no shit shut the fuck up

Speaking of Neville, I wonder what they've got for him. Right, he's just squashed Axel. What does it build to? He's a babyface so he's not going straight after the mid card titles, nor should he.

IMO, they need to get him over by winning a series of quick matches (like the one last night) impressively getting his full move set in against the jobbers (Slater, Axel, Zyder, Rose, Fandango, Dallas; then move him onto Swagger, Rowan, Henry, etc) before a title shot down the road on a PPV.

Inevitably though he'll go the way of most NXT callups (note most the list of people I've named as people that should job to him recently came up from NXT...) and get zero push and just become another member of the roster. I hope not, because the one thing he can do that none of the wrestlers I've mentioned is have a superb match with anyone. If, as it seems they are, they're making the IC title the 'workers belt', he'd fit perfect into that group. A bit like what the Cruiserweight belt was in WCW, the belt that was fought over by the best workers on the card.

I'll not hold my breath though.

OMG! Within about 5 seconds of WrestleMania opening I was just blown away!! The WWE could just have shown the Levis Stadium for 2 minutes!! That would have made a lifetime impression on me!! Just started watching it today on XMBC and if the first 2-3 matches are anything to go by (I am up to the end of Sting v Triple H - the NWO and DX returning to do battle just had me in raptures. I am meant to have a routine dental examination today at 10:30 and I was on the verge of missing it!!) I am scared to imagine what the rest of WM will be like. I never in my wildest imaginations thought a WWE PPV could get that big!

I would love for TNA to put on a show like that. I would love for ECIII to come up from underneath a stage dressed as The Terminator and walk down the aisle with fireworks going of left, right and center or for people banging on drums as Kurt Angle walks to the ring for a title match. THAT is the thing TNA is missing. Lavish shows on a grandeur never seen before. Fans would go nuts if we had a show like that. As it is TNA can just about manage a sparkler bought from a Bonfire Night sale and a few balloons. Sod the wrestling.
