It's hard to fathom all the excitement over AEW. There is nothing whatsoever to suggest it will be anything other than a calamitous fail.
Yeah, the usual suspects will suggest otherwise but wrestling is f***ing finished. It's done for. The real fan base has long since gone and wontbe returning sadly.
You know, I remember saying on here years ago how the WWE was finished, how Cena and Reigns and New Day and all these other emasculated jokes had turned pro wrestling into a niche product populated by nerds who shout This Is Awesome! a hundred and fifty times a show. But as usual, the try hards wouldn't listen when the ratings were falling off a cliff. And still the excuses came.
I hope one day pro wrestling gets back to what made it great. Story telling. Drama. Larger than life characters. Characters you could f***ing relate to. But i don't hold out hope.
So enjoy AEW. Enjoy the million and one kick outs. The endless flippedy flop matches that carry no suspense, the cheap shot promos at WWE that will soon become tired and stale, the absence of long drawn out story lines over throwaway meaningless matches. The nonsensical booking that contradicts itself every 2 weeks. Enjoy NXT 2.0, TNA 2.0 and remember how they turned out.

More alive than ever? Really? Talk about complete ignoring realityCheers mate, you enjoy Vince booking the WWE into oblivion. I think the demand for AEW and Double or Nothing proves that there are a lot of wrestling fans out there that still love it but are completely sick of the shite WWE are putting out, there is massive demand for an alternative product. Not sure how you can say wrestling is finished when not too long ago ROH/NJPW sold out MSG and AEW have sold out a 13,000 arena in four minutes in a notoriously difficult city to draw in. Wrestling outside of WWE is more alive than ever.

The WWE is dead. Pro wrestling is dead mate. It's shrank from mainstream to niche within a generation because it lost all sense of what had made it great. I've loved it for as long as i can remember but it is sank to a depth i never thought possible. I really hope AEW changes things but I've seen nothing to suggest they're still heading down the same path as Vince. The path that led to millions switching the channel over for good.
I never suggested it was and it certainly hasn't been for a very long time. But sadly the direction it has gone in has permeated throughout the entire industry. The WWE is not the be all and end all of wrestling.
A triple with cheese,I read this in Jim Cornette's voice.
Great to see a PPV on a Saturday night; hope all their events do that.
