CM Punk was “burned out” while he was working in the WWE, said fellow wrestler Kevin Nash in a recent report. This comes after Mick Foley said Punk was in “considerable pain.”

Nash said, “I got the chance to hang around him a little and get to know him a little bit. And I was there during the Rumble when they were putting the Rumble together. He just kind of looked at me, you know like he just gave me these eyes like ‘do you believe this?’ You know, it’s like this guy is putting this match together and he shouldn’t be putting this match together. It should be the guys putting the match together. I could just tell that he was…”

He said that “Phil’s [CM Punk] not a small guy but he’s not a big guy either. And he’s one of the guys, he takes a lot of punishment on a nightly basis. He had a heating pack on his back and he was walking around that day and a year ago when we, he and I, were on the road together and we were in London working we fell asleep, like side by side on the floor.”

Nash added: “I woke up and I was paralyzed. It was just a couple hours asleep on the floor. I woke him up and I was like, dude, I can’t move if you don’t get up. So he got up and he got some heat on his back. We were in the trainer’s room and we were talking. I just asked him what his condition was. He really hadn’t even had an MRI at that point. I think he’s gotten an MRI since then and I think he’s got some degeneration in his .”

Foley also spoke about Punk’s departure, describing the situation.

“I have never been to a WWE event where Punk was not in considerable pain. Ice packs, heating pads, and visits to the trainer were as much a part of his daily routine as eating. sleeping, and wrestling. Performing at that level, in that degree of pain was only possible when accompanied by the passion that turned an unlikely Indy kid into one of the greatest WWE superstars of his generation, (sic)” Foley wrote on Facebook recently.

“Once that passions gone, then so are all of the things that made him great. I know what it feels like to go through the motions, and to do what needs to be done solely for the paycheck. It’s not pretty – and though I have not talked to Punk since the night before he left, I have to believe he has too much respect for what he does to let people see him going through the motions.”

Doubt Punk will be back anytime soon!

This is the thing, we love watching these guys put their body on the line but they can only do it for a comparitavely short period of time. Luckily they have a steady stream of people that want to entertain us. I was gutted when Edge retired and it made me realise how good he was. Punk will be the same, shame he's gone like because he was damn good at when he does. no doubt they'll have a 'new' punk in no time.

And then it'll be copied on TNA a few weeks later

A bit familiar?

Daniel Bryan and Eric Young are two completely different wrestlers who have only ONE thing in common and you saying that one thing has been copied has me stupefied by your bizarre logic. So am I copying you then by also having a Sunderland home shirt? Clown.

The sooner that company goes out of business the better.

How can you say that? Wishing TNA to go out of business will be cutting off the wrestling industries nose to spite it's face. If you want TNA to go out of business you want the wrestling industry to go back to square one (how it was in 2002) and be in a worse state than it is now with the WWE having the monopoly on the wrestling industry. However petty and vindictive your hatred for TNA is you can't ever take one thing from it; it is the only alternative right now to the WWE. No other wrestling promotion has anywhere near the media package, fan support, recognition and merchandise industry of the WWE. I have seen some idiotic business decisions made by idiotic people who think they are "businessmen" in my time watching Dragon's Den but you top both by some distance.

Punks straight edge lifestyle won't have helped his body either.

He always said he wanted to retire by his mid-late 30s too IIRC. In fairness he has been wrestling regularly since he was about 15 but didn't receive professional training until he was about 19/20 apparently so he's been doing it for 20 years. Eventually it will take it's toll. I hope he does come back but I don't think he will.

The reason i say that is because i find it ridiculous, and also very TNAesque how they've copied the most current WWE storyline in order to gain a few more viewers, it's also the fact they've used someone who when i used to watch it back in 2006 was a complete and utter comedy act, who would never be taken seriously, (practically the same as giving the WWE belt to a Santino or a Fandango in about 6 years) it really shows how pathetic TNA's creativity is. They've obviously looked at their roster for someone who's been kicking about for a while, like Daniel Bryan. Told him to grow a beard, because of Daniel Bryan. And then had the nerve to say it was their idea first to tell him to grow a beard in order for their 'Authority' heel to get a few boos.
How you manage to watch that shite, yet defend it and then slate me for an opinion is both laughable and disgusting. But you just keep watching your shite wrestling promotion, and maybe someday you'll get to watch a woman's cage match main event a show again.

BOLLOCKS!! You must be a raving conspiracy-theorist if you think TNA's creative team actually told EY to grow a beard because Daniel Bryan did it. EY has had a beard for yonks. Nobody can actually date to an accurate point when both wrestlers first grew their beards.

...maybe someday you'll get to watch a woman's cage match main event a show again.

Lethal Lockdown 2014. Madison Rayne beat Gail Kim. :D

Are you trying to imply iceman is really VKM?

Face it marra, TNA is f***ing shite. It's so shite it's pointless so i fully understand the reason some people think it would just be better gone.

Probably grooming Corey Graves for that role.
