No 49 M Owen Newcastle... Bottom line: By his own world-class standards, Michael Owen was a disappointment for Newcastle.
 
Owen was world class up to the 5-1 in Germany

Unfortunately his hamstring prevented him from possibly beating linekers scoring record for England, plus Liverpool winning the premier league

He was a top class finisher but I always felt he was terrified of the hamstring going and played within himself

Such a shame imo
