Worst SAFC manager: MON or Bruce?

MON.
in the little time he was here he seemed more interested in working his way through Romano's menu than managing a football club.
thank f**k ellis saw right through him.

TBF the only one who has been any good in the last 50 years has been Stokoe and Reid. Other than that successive managers have promised loads but delivered little of note.

MON purely because I think everyone expected so much better from his reign. Bruce did alright here for 18 months or so was only really his last 6 months when it all turned to shite.

Bruce as at least we had the cup run under MoN. Bruce was a third round disaster

Aside from wasting a fortune on average and below average players and on the way of relegation in his last season, yes, he wasn't that bad.:) Oh, and he finished 10th once.
And signing some good players. Did you forget that bit ?

Steve Bruce was f***ing shite, and I hate the FGB, but Martin O'Neill was an absolute disaster here. It's really horrible to realise how one man can go from being the Right Man for the job, to one of the worst things to happen to your club.

Mon by a mile. Least Bruce improved us from where he picked up, bought some good players and we had some good matches under him. Not much of an achievement but its something. Dare I say he cared more about the club than Mon.

Mon had 10 good matches, bought two good players, everything else he did or we did under him was abysmal

We are still suffering the ramifications of the Bruce reign and the wages they are on. MoN other than the first few months was a massive disappointment, massive, for both parties. One is a journeyman and the other had actually achieved wherever he had been. Only at Sunderland could the journeyman come up with a better finish.
Hells teeth.

His last summer was an absolute disaster. Any good work he had done was cancelled out and he left us with a squad that is destined only for relegation scraps. We're still suffering for it now - witness our inability to turnaround our critical central midfield. It's choosing between a punch in the eye and a kick in the balls. MON has very little to recommend him other than the burst of form that saved us. However, Bruce had an easier starting position from which to mould his team and simply couldn't stop tinkering - and left us as a perennial relegation battler.

Bruce. Disaster in his second season but first one showed some promise. The win at Chelsea was one of the best SAFC performances in the PL.

Pretty much this. Good summary mate.

Maybe it's only me, but is anyone else a little shocked at how the Mo'N slump started after the 3-3 draw at City?
I honestly thought we were going to go places after getting a result like that :(

In the 20+ years i have supported SAFC, i have to say Howard Wilkinson has to be there worst, he was a steaming pile of dog shite
