Worst quality prem in years

The quality of the Prem is as high as ever and also much more competitive than ever.
It's very noticable how many big names from La Liga have failed to cut the mustard in the Prem, yet have looked more impressive than before, as a result of their Prem.experience, on their return to Spain.
I doubt very much if even Barca and Real, with all their big stars, would find life quite so easy in the week in,week out, highly competitive pressure cooker atmosphere of the Prem., as in their own domestic league.

So weak that all the 4 teams in the CL are currently topping their groups as are the two teams in the Europa cup.

1. Just not true. Go through the squad lists. From Zirkov to Ramires to N'gog to etc etc. FFS even Newcastle are doing well man.

2. True but that is because of 1.

Was out for a curry with a mate last night and we agreed this was the worst quality premier league in years.

Most years one of the teams that come up might have been a bit of a surprise and done well but this year all of the promoted teams have been doing quite well.

All of the big four have worse squads than they've had for years bar chelski but even they don't have the best of the best anymore as all the best players have gone to spain.

Spanish league has been syphoning off he cream of the talent for years and the last two seasons Real and Barca have really just bought themselves the best from all over.

Last weekend had some canny games but overall the quality is down and that is showing in the national side.

Thoughts?
It's the best premier league in years ye pair of divs. It's by far the most entertaining, which is what it's meant to be, is it not?

the fact that the teams are more evenly matched does not mean that the prem is lacking in quality. youve only got 2 look at our team now, and maybes brum and fulham. teams like us and them are improving more and more, its not the fact that the prem is bad

That's its great that you are at ease with your sexuality.

Mind a curry may not have been the best idea with man love on the agenda later.

:lol::lol::lol: Nice one, marra.

But to contribute to the OP's craic:-

The rest are catching up the PL "old guard", their dominance is coming under threat. That's just got to be good.

I would agree with that but I still think for a few years the prem attracted the very cream of world talent but bit by bit the spanish league has overtaken us and now the very best players in the world play in spain.

Wasn't a date like, just watched the first half of the England match in the Cat and Canary and then went for a curry.

I had a chicken bhuna.

Owt else?

By your aggresive tone, you obviously didnt get lucky last night.

Think you've picked the wrong pair - I'm very pleased we haven't 'improved' a la Fulham & Brum - in fact the only teams from the lower echelons of last years league to be doing significantly better are us and Bolton (who looked very good against Spurs). A closer analysis actually seems to suggest that the tightness of the premier this year is more due to the old "big boys" not doing so well.

I have a feeling that this could be Arsenal's year and ours as well.

Many top players probably prefer life in Spain for a number of reasons rather than financial.
Language is one, climate is another, being able to cruise through a Spanish season against less competitive teams is another.
There are no easy games in the Prem., our one sided easy victory over Chelski being the exception :-D, and IMHO there are only a few top name Spanish stars who could handle it.
