Worst Away Day you've done

I wouldn't say I've had a bad one in terms of actual day out. Awful results and all that but always had a good time. Some standout of course. I'd say Southampton for the 8-0 and Villa for the 6-1 on a Monday night were poor . For actual day out Crystal Palace is shit, pubs close to the ground all a bit dodgey and in an awful area. Lost 3-1 under Di Canio last time I was there.

Man Utd away 2011, I walked out at half time, next to loads of charvers not watching the game and just singing about Newcastle when I was hungover.

Flipping the other thread on its head, what's the worst away experience you've had.

Not in terms of result but the overall day. For me it was Everton away in 2017 under Simon Grayson in the League Cup. Travelled down by myself on a dry supporters bus, lost 3-0 and may as well not have showed up.

Everton won in first gear and there was about 400 SAFC fans down. Just an absolute waste of time from start to finish and one of those proper 'what am I doing with my life' kinda nights.
Watford 82 was bad, but Soton 2014 was woeful. Also Derby opening day of season 0-5.
This one for me ☝🏼
One of the worst displays I’ve ever witnessed, and there have been lots

There’s been a few times when we have just never turned up at Wembley. It’s a crap feeling leaving that ground knowing we were shite.
Norwich and Swindon spring to mind.

Reading away..FA Cup 3rd round January 1990..got beat 2-1 even though we scored in the first minute..their right back scored both goals..stood on an open terrace fkn freezing and it pissed down all game..on the way back we stopped in Upton in Yorkshire..went in a pub called the Upton Arms..I knew this lad was watching us (we all had our stripes on under our coats) I went to the bog before we left and seen him down the corridor on the phone..went back to the lads then outside and into the car..we’d literally shut the car doors and two vans came screaming into the car park and all the lads jumped out and ran in the pub..as we pulled away they came back out shouting at us..another 30 seconds and we might have got a kicking just to round off a shit day.

1986! I remember it.

Had a similar journey in 1989 on the Non Stop Clipper from Birtley services first thing, didn't have much money to speak of just had some dope and the entrance fee .. got gubbed 5-0 on a Wednesday night all their goals were great hits .. back to Victoria for the overnight Clipper back ..

Somehow managed to get promoted six months or so later.
Alvin Martin set a record tbag wikl surely never be equalled with a hattrick with each goal scored vs a different keeper

0-2 to Leicester under butcher. Mid week game and my mates car broke down on the way back to RAF Cosford. Got to my bed about 3. Inept football.

West Ham at the Olympic stadium in 2016

Height of the moyes era of discontent - worst ever start in the PL for us

90 something minute loser (winston Reid)

Loads of aggro inside and outside the ground, everything just felt impossibly and inevitably shite.

Went on a mahoosive bender henceforth; taking in kings x first, Stratford for the game, into Holborn then a pub crawl back to kings x where most missed their train home, everyone back down to Shoreditch and lord knows where else. I must have been incommunicado for 12 solid hours.

nay offence and that, but you said worst day not in terms of the result, but then framed the whole disappointment of your day in the context of the result / performance.
