"Worse than O'Neill"

the lack of a cutting edge is presenting the likes of me with anxiety mate.

Lack of a cutting edge is probably the comment most spoken. And you can't argue with that. You may argue whether we are worse than under O'Neill but not this. The lack of necessary quality required to finish a move decisively is the most worrying element of the team.

Just what is Gus playing at? What is he trying to achieve keeping the team back defending for about 85 minutes?

Have to say we look a really poor team. We've got spirit and are hard working but that's about all we've got going for us at the minute
This is true. but once Cissè is fully fit and some of the new lads like Cabbella and Rivière step up to the plate , you's should be ok man.

Di Canio, O'Neill, Poyet, they all merge into one the footballs been equally shit

Give Gus time,
People have very short memory's......one of the worst tenures under Owneil followed by the Worst start under PDC to the season in SAFC history, players that wandered round the pitch like a field full of Moflon Sheep....
Then Gus took over changed the mentality the greatest escape ever last year, cup final, part removal of some of the worst players to ever put on the shirt.....let's get behind Gus and the team. FTM

We might as well be playing nine across the f**king back. At least they wouldn't get in each others way when they're hoofing the f**king ball back into no-man's land.

The only time Poyet's team pass is when it doesn't f**king matter. Tippy tappy triangles between the defenders and keeper then f**king hoof.
Whatever it is that's portrayed in the brochures doesn't happen on the f**king pitch.

That's simply not true of yesterday though given we did carve out chances.

Heard this comment lots today.

*Worse football than O'Neill
*Worse start to a season than

Supporters are fast working Poyet out.

Was going to try a reasonable sensible response to this but I keep coming back to..........fuck off man you clueless twat!!

Tedious....and completely wrong, why not take your agenda and fuck off and 'support' another team!

They already do, all Shandy drinking, pasty eating, shirt stained Bross supporting, secret Mag fans!!

I agree. @jsdftm04 (i think ive got that right:)) said the same thing after i quoted and i accept yesterday was different. When i typed i still had a bit of anger from the Spurs game left in my fingers:).
The spurs game was ridiculous, our own players were causing bigger problems with congestion than the attackers made chances. Every time we regained possession the instant thought was to hoof it into no-man's land where it soon came back. There was no room to operate.

In my defence i posted the tactics we needed to use yesterday the day before the game. Against swansea i said not to use the passing game and turn it into a battle as much as possible. I didn't want swansea to open up the pitch on us as i thought we'd be playing their game. My recommendation was to get the ball into the box as much as possible and fight for deflections etc etc. In my opinion that was our best chance to win the game and when we did it yesterday we had a chance.

Against stoke i would go for the passing game style as we want to open the pitch on them. I don't want the game to be primarily a box based scrap because that's what they'd prefer. In other words, pick your tactics to suit the enemy. Unless you're a very very good team one style doesn't beat all.

You're just making stuff up based on your extremely limited knowledge of the opposition and football in general.

Unbelievable.

I didn't expect Poyet to use them, he's possibly not smart enough:). It was part of a thread started by someone else.
Either way, from the evidence on the pitch i was correct.
I said we needed to play a rough aggressive game with as much body contact as possible and get the ball into the box a lot. I wanted us to stop them opening the pitch out on us. I believe i was right.

I'm sorry, its just your level of self importance leaves me unable to see any point that you're trying to make. Its literally jaw dropping at times.

All you've done here is describe the opposite of what the stereotypes of a club are, in attempting to nullify them. Stoke are traditionally big and long ball, so let's pass it around them. Swansea are good quick, slick passers so let's close them down and not let them play. If only it were that easy.

Do you play Football Manager by any chance?

Haven't got time. Too busy polishing the medals i won at top flight professional sport.
Apart from Brown and O'Shea, not many of the f**kers i'm watching have the same problem.

Stoke are no longer a big aggressive long ball team. This is where pistons extremely basic tactical assessment falls over.

I could go into finer detail but i'm talking about our attacking when we have the ball and particularly how we penetrate the box. Are Huth and Shawcross examples of the new balerina types you're talking about because they're the c*nts who'll be heading the high balls away?
