Just watching a documentary on TV now about the new England song for the Euros by two young rappers called Krept and Konan.
Very enlightening and a good view of what England is today.
Will make a lot of us feel very old.
Or ant and Dec's 'hes on the ball'... There's been some shite mind

Originally by the 1970
England World Cup squad on their album.

Both awful for different reasons, but WIM at a push. Three Lions was predicated on a lie. 30 years of hurt? Why? We won the WC in 66 and we were champions until 1970. The song was released in 96. Therefore only 26 years of hurt, if that. Skinner and Baddiel are a pair of kernts as well.

I can't believe it's even a question. One is brilliant, the other is aural tabloid dross.

Believe your new album is out soon Prof?

If WIM had been released as a normal record not affiliated with the world cup it would have peaked in the mid 20's and been completely forgotten tbh.
It's a bog standard New Order song and not remotely close to their best.
It's remembered with great fondness as it reminds us of a great tournament we came close to winning, (plus John Barnes).
I fall for it too

The 1982 World Cup song is the first I remember

This time, more than any other time, this time,
We're going to find a way,
Find a way to get away,
We are Ron's 22.

I sang foot stomping high energy rendition of vindaloo on kareokee (after much alcohol) with a lass I met on holiday on a catermaran sailing round Thailand. Have to say it went down a storm with the international travellers on the boat they loved it 😎
