Working in Amsterdam

Going to be working in Amsterdam three days a week for the next few months.

Digs and travel paid for by work. Where would be a good place to stay?

Drugs and hewers aside what should I do in my spare time?
 


Stay in De Pijp (pronounced pipe). I guess it's the Amsterdam equivalent to Hackney.

See if your work can sort out with a Dutch bank maestro card to make your life easier. Having to pay by cash in Albert Heijn every day is massive pain in the arse when you'll likely not use cash at any other point.

I imagine I’ll be eating out the whole time and putting it on expenses.

I’ll be working with other people over from London but I’m hoping we can sort our own accommodation out. The thought of living in a hotel and having to having to meet colleagues for breakfast in the morning is the stuff of nightmares.
