Words you dont hear anymore # 2321

Instill.

For some reasons people have turned into computers. As in 'the managers installed a really strong work ethic into the team'. Always hear it and it irritates me every time.

Don't hear 'daft ha'peth' anymore. Maybe just a Yorkshire thing.

Sprog (meaning a young child).

It's more a case that people look after their own drinks these days, whether because they don't want to drink too much (drugs testing at work makes some people jumpy) or keep their money in check.

Point taken though. :)

A word comes into use to describe a situation or condition then has to be replaced by something else, because it's suddenly seen as offensive.

We live in a very strange world.
