Woman commentator on MOTD

The fact is, the higher tone of a woman’s voice makes it more grating on the ears.

Thats a far point, that twat that used to commentate on Channel 5 was horrific, Jonathon Pearce was it, his commentaries were like dragging nails down a black board.
I’ll never forget the amazingly cringeworthy,

“Ready, Steady, Teddy!!!!!”

After Sheringham scored in a pointless international friendly.

This. There are women who make perfectly good pundits, they can do the lead pundit role no bother at all, they can be co commentators. When they're lead commentator, however, I'm yet to hear one who doesn't sound far too high pitched, especially when shouting when there's a shot that goes close, just hurts my ears
Are there? I agree with Clough. The only decent pundits are managers. The rest are all pretty clueless, with the odd exception (I think Lee Dixon is quite good.)

You think Lineker sounds sexy ?

He's pushed up from the back.
He likes to get in the hole.
He slipped it through the goalies legs.
He got the wrong side of his man there
no, I was merely referring to the deployment of the word 'tit' in that post I responded to and as an aside, my head is now full of the thought that someone on here thinks I find Mr, Lineker sexually attractive and its put me right off my porridge

I don't think the issue is with them being female, it's with them being shit. Reckon there are decent commentators but they've not been given a chance yet. Zero reason they can't be as good (or better) than men.

If the only commentators I'd heard were Tyler and Matterface I'd think all blokes were awful as well.

Sam Matterface really grinds my gears! Whenever there's a bit of decent action he chews his words and puts a sharp snarly tone into his commentary. He has a very thin voice so the effect is like an icepick in the ear!

I can’t stand him either, as he gets to play with Natalie Sawyer like

Derby v Soton game

Sorry if it offends anyone like but she just sounds wrong
the way she rolls the sound of the end of her sentences to try and replicate a 50 year old bloke who smokes 50 superkings a day. love listening to Alex Scott when shes a pundit, she knows what shes talking about and seems natural. not forced like the lass you're referring to.

People don't like what they aren't used to. The ability to like or know about football isn't based on gender so it comes down to how well you can present. Again, that isn't governed by gender, so you just need good presenters to appear and then people will get used to it and it'll be normalised.

Also need some of the older generation who are stuck in their ways to die off as well :p

Women outnumbered men talking about blokes footy on sky the other day.

The problem with that is I just automatically switch off when women are gobshiting so I have no idea if they were any good or not...
