Woman commentator on MOTD

Alex scott must be getting a fortune flitting between her token female duties on bbc and sky. She isnt too bad actually but the while female invasion of sports tv is annoying as fk to be honest.

She knows what she’s talking about more than some of the blokes to be fair.

And at the end of the day, Alan Green is still making a living out of commentating.

I completely understand not liking female commentators. It just doesn't sound right, especially when they're doing the play by play.

There aren't many female pundits out there who are getting TV work, but there are several I know from podcasts who are much better than the likes of Savage, Dixon, Keown, Shearer, Phil Neville etc...

Priyah Ramesh
Faye Carruthers
Kelly Cates
Claire Balding
Amy Lawrence

does she fuck, what was that she was on about the other week with the "low block" coments.

she may be more articulate than some but she trots out the same kind of garbage and hasn't got the same level of experience or knowledge to call on. she's there purely to tick boxes and because of looks and everytime she's in a studio with men it becomes a bit stale and awkward. you're not going to get real in depth analysis on mainstream football programmes, so a bit of banter and a laugh is expected, which generally disappears when she's there.

I have no problem with women being involved tbh, many men are shite too even with a deeper level of experience of playing to the levels they're expected to offer analysis on. but Scott seems to be popular and you get called sexist or some other claptrap when you call her out, when she isn't actually more than a token presenter.

Low block is quite a common term tbf.
Tactical Principles: The Low Block

How f***ing bad is she? Utterly dreadful commentator.

Anyone who thinks I'm saying that because she's a woman can just get fucked.

I assume we're talking about the one on the Swansea game for BBC1 ?

She was dreadful. Worst commentator i have ever heard.

However as the worst pundit, the indecipherable Clinton Morrison takes the prize

Not really a commonly used English term.

it's the kind of term which either originates or develops from outside of football itself or even other sports and becomes more popular with things like the football manager series or fans.

I've heard countless people using the term 'park the bus in and out of football, but until recently no one speaking about "the low block". sounds like something which will have origininated from the states.

Wait till you see AFRICA with Ade Adepitan for PC gone mad, you got a fella in a wheelchair travelling round Africa, surely they're more talented presenters who could have got this slot.

This program was commissioned solely to top up a diversity percentage on some internal BBC document, woeful presenting.

Don't know why it bothers people to be honest. Just somebody describing the events.
Was there this uproar when the first female newsreaders appeared?
Yes very good female newsreaders. First one I heard was excellent, informing us that Toxteth had beaten newcastle for the City of Culture.
