Got knocked back for Wolves tickets, so got them for me and the bairn in the Wolves end from Wolves website.
Got a call from them yesterday saying they have cancelled the tickets as they have been in touch with SAFC ticket office and found out we are SAFC season ticket holders.
The sneakey fuckers, but not to be out done I've got a mate in Darlo who has ordered me a couple, see if i get them.
Just beware if your up to the same tricks as me

TBH I dont think SAFC should give information like that out to other clubs. I know they will say they are cooperating in the interest of safety etc, but I dont want other clubs to know if i have a ST at SAFC or not, its none of their business. If I choose to go to a game and sit in the "wrong end" then that is my choice, there is no law against it. SAFC should just say that they cant give out the names of their customers

It sounds like a breach of data protection to me - they should be charged and then banned from the stadium.

How did they find out ? Did you put Sunderland as your adress ?

Put all my normal details, address etc etc
The moaning voice down the phone said i broke the terms and conditions by being an away fan in the home section of the stadium, ffs this is 2010

So they didn't say they'd phoned the club, you just assumed that?

What has the year got to do with the terms and conditions of purchase?

They actually said they had been in touch with Sunderland ticket office and found out we are both season ticket holders.

Mebbes just flying a kite to see if you'd roll over. I'd get onto the ticket office though and ask if they've been giving out the information, put the willies up them, so to speak.

SAFC, as the data controller, can only share information with third parties where they have your permission.

Having said that, there will be exceptions where there is likely to be actual, or the potential for, criminal acitivity. In the interests of crime prevention i.e. keeping the peace, the Police can request information from SAFC and they have to hand it over. Whether that formal route has been taken in this situation is open to question.

It may well be that as part of our seasn ticket Ts & Cs we agree to have our details placed on a centralised register that is controlled by the Police but that other clubs have access to.

I assume they are just flagging up people with a north-east address, I got mine through the post but then my address is in Surrey, I'm a member of the ticket line so im also on the database. If your mates not a st holder then should be ok

funny the club seems to have no problem with away fans sitting in the home end at the sol, i mean on monday their was loads of scousers round were i sit.

About time you caught up then:idea:

Surely both Wolves and SAFC ticket offices in breach of DPA? Them for giving your details to SAFC and SAFC for confirming them!

We've got a box (obviously in their end), they dont have a problem with that. Mustnt be bothered if they can make a load more money out of us.

It will be argued that it’s for public safety mate.

Correct.

That's 3 breaches mind.

The clubs will be covered mate; they will simply say something like 'after advice from the police.......'.

I think it is against the law for an away fan to be in the home end but also certainly against the ground Ts&Cs
