He a world class striker that could walk into most top european clubs, he is a striker, his job is to score goals.
I couldn't give a shit if he walks around the pitch picking his nose, as long as when he gets his striking opportunities, he buries them!!!
World class STRIKER imho!!

This.Apart from Sir Niall Darren Bent is the best thing to ever happen to Sunderland football club. Not just for his goals ratio which is world class but for his attitude.
This is a top proven goalscorer,England international that has been unfairly treat in the past but his determination to succeed is admirable. He wanted to come to our club when many other southerners wouldn't tread past Watford in coming North.
He has raised the profile of our proud club and helps attract the better calibre of player we always craved and he is proud to wear our shirt, not just here for a big pay day.
I think the man is a top professional and i am delighted he plays for my club and hope he continues to play in the red and white of Sunderland for many, many years.
You are loved Mr.Bent by the majority of true Sunderland fans.
Idiots judging him on one game without a goal after returning from injury!!!!!What comments. I must of missed something. Last time i looked 99% of SAFC fans were in love with Bent.
Don't foget Welbeck who is finally being played in his natural positionThis.
We have exciting times ahead. Before his injury, Fraizer Campbell was on fire. Asamoah Gyan looks excellent. And Darren Bent, who got 25 goals last season in a very ordinary Sunderland team.
Build a midfield with this calibre of player in it, and Europe awaits.

I'm not counting him in either, because he isn't ours yet.Don't foget Welbeck who is finally being played in his natural position
Is that it. A couple of idiots on here.
What a cracking thread.

It is just another example of how fickle our fans can be towards players in the modern age. Darren Bent has done tremendous things for this club and is a class act on and off the pitch, but there are some who are happy to forget that because they want something shiney and new instead. Henderson is another example.

No one has 'had a pop at Bent'. You just made that up.its inevitable that hes comes in for a little bit of stick unfortunatey. hes been totally immune to it on here since he arrived (unsuaul for this place, everyone else gets slaughtered) so now that welbeck and gyan are scoring a few people feel they can come out from under their rocks and finally have a pop at bent. ofcourse theyll shut up again next time he scores and have a go at gordon, for £9m he shouldnt be saving goals ffs he should be scoring them aswell
