Just thought I'd give a heads up. We're doing a live show in Manchester on Saturday November 12th at Kings Arms Ale House in Salford. Tickets will be on sale soon via ALS. I'll share the link in here when they're up. They'll be a tenner. Guests are being sorted so hopefully will be able to announce them sooner rather than later. Cheers!

Guests announced as SAFC legend Gary Bennett and BBC Radio Commentator Nick Barnes.

To anybody unfamiliar with The Kings Arms, it was/is owned by ex Housemartins and Beautiful South frontman Paul Heaton. It's a well known venue for theatre and comedy, selling good real ale. Its just off Chapel Street, a short walk from the city centre and a hundred yards or so from Salford Central train station. When WMS did a similar show in London, I believe it sold out in advance the the London lot drank the bar dry - so we've got some competition! Get your tickets early, as it is likely to sell out.

You can now buy tickets for this show direct from the branch, instead of having to follow the link and create an account with ALS. Tickets are £10 each, just get in touch via email on [email protected] and tell us how many tickets you want.

You can pay cash on the branch bus or by bank transfer to the branch, the same way you pay for away match tickets.

Tickets can either be picked up on the coach, posted or left on the door for you on the night.

As mentioned before, the London lot sold out their show and drank the bar dry, so it promises to be a very good night. If you know of other SAFC fans in the area, pass it on to them too.

The branch have 2 pairs of tickets to give away as prizes in two separate competitions. See a copy of an email just sent to everybody on the branch database. To enter this first competition, just reply to the email. If you're not on our database, get in touch on [email protected] we'll add you to the database for updates on branch travel and tickets, and enter you into the competition to win tickets for the recording of the WMS podcast in Manchester:

There's just under a fortnight to go to this show and unless somebody gets their shooting boots on at Bournemouth AND Swansea fail to get any points away at Stoke and home to Man Utd, we'll be rooted to the bottom of the Premier League at the time of the recording. Apart from some minor World Cup Qualifiers, there's nowt else of interest on that night, so come and join us in Manchester, where we can all moan about the current state of SAFC and drown our sorrows to our hearts content. Or come along, stand proud and declare, "I'll support this club through thick and thin, 'til the day I die"
Whichever side of the fence you're on, its a great opportunity to get together for a beer or two and chat all things SAFC.

WMS have given the branch two pairs of tickets to give away. The first competition to win a pair of tickets will be for you lot on our email database only. To enter this competition, all you need to do is to reply to this email, saying you'd like to be entered. We'll draw one winner at random on Friday 4th November and notify the winner by email.

The competition to win the second pair of tickets will be via twitter, and will be announced later in the week. If you're not already following us on twitter, start now by following @GtrMcSAFCSA

Tickets are selling well (WMS have about 10 left). To buy tickets, just reply to this email saying how many you want, pay the branch directly, and they'll be on the door for you to pick up on the night. If you buy tickets in advance and win the competition, we'll refund you your ticket price.

Just in case you haven't heard or seen a WMS podcast, this link http://wisemensay.co.uk/category/podcasts/page/2/ was filmed at their London broadcast in August. Scroll down to Wise Men Say live at Southwark Brewery.

Hopefully see a fair few branch members at the Kings Arms, on Saturday 12th November
