Played alongside him last time he was at Brandon and he's incredibly professional. Always striving to get the most out of his teammates.
Great lad, played with him last season. Shame things didn't work out for him at Benwell, but deffo Brandons gain.

Nicholson is also a very good all rounder. Brandon will be strong this year.

Although Dan Wilks needs to learn to pitch it up

Also Sunderland have Youldon back from Chester, Jazzy Singh back from Benwell, Arshad as Durham player, and an Indian pro batsman who I know nothing about.

Sunderland will not go back up then.

Change of pro for Bill Quay; as Anoop Pai unfortunately had to withdraw last week for personal reasons. We have however been lucky to pick up a good replacement at short notice, due to his intended club down south being unable to raise the funds they needed.

Usman Malvi is our new pro - an Indian opening bowler and middle order batsman who played first class cricket for Mumbai and has played for clubs in England in each of the past six consecutive summers. He scored 400 runs and took 72 wickets in the Huddersfield Premier League last year (and was by far and away that League's top wicket taker), so we are hopeful that he can have a great season for us.

Hope he's aware of the illustrious footsteps he's following in! ;)

Sounds like you have done well there and I hope he contributes to the club as much as Anoop did last season!!

Best of luck to all BQCC teams this season especially the 1t team in what will be a very good competitive division.

Will know doubt catch up with you at some point over the season somewhere?

Thanks mate. I've no doubt that our paths will cross - maybe both us and LCC will have a good run in the 15/15 competition and we will meet on finals day!

Are you turning out this year?

I'm managing both the U11's and 13's at our place this year (simply because no one else will do it and I will be there to watch the boy) so that with junior practise night think it's time to give sat cricket a miss all together (well Mrs P thinks it is). No doubt will have to fill in when the holidays kick in and they are desperately short, hope to also play a few midweek games for LCC social team. Shame our junior training is on Thursday nights as I may have been calling Mr Phillpot for a midweek game.

I'm sure there'll be a spot for you if you have any free Thursdays. What about Sundays? Too long a game for the old knees? ;)
