More stuff to blow about in the back garden? It also occurred to me there may be some method to the angle houses are built, the wind/gusts 99% of the time come from the west. I do know back in industrial revolution times they must have had some knowledge of this sort of thing, as the east end in old towns are working class areas....due to the smoke and smog ending up blowing that way, the west ends were largely unaffected by this problem.I havent....wind is horrendous in back garden, furniture all over, fences fighting for life, but at front of the house its quite windy but not too bad?

It's not that bad down south but I'm in a gated estate so we don't really get the elements as bad anyway.
