Wind storms (again)

Northern Powergrid getting in early by predicting power cuts here. I've just put some batteries in a lantern just in case!

There was a hurricane that hit the US Southern States last year called Brian...I wouldn't get out of my bed for a Storm named Brian...if they'ed have called it Beelzebub people would have taken it more seriously.

Daily Express wet's it's pants over drizzle.
Birds know when a storms coming because they fly to somewhere up wind for food, as they'ed struggle to return home.

I havent....wind is horrendous in back garden, furniture all over, fences fighting for life, but at front of the house its quite windy but not too bad?
More stuff to blow about in the back garden? It also occurred to me there may be some method to the angle houses are built, the wind/gusts 99% of the time come from the west. I do know back in industrial revolution times they must have had some knowledge of this sort of thing, as the east end in old towns are working class areas....due to the smoke and smog ending up blowing that way, the west ends were largely unaffected by this problem.

You're bang on there mate.

Was reading about this just the other week. Never occurred to me before (and why would it).

Nah it’s genuinely shite, loud and annoying. Not sure what there’s to like, must be grim being homeless mind.
It's not that bad down south but I'm in a gated estate so we don't really get the elements as bad anyway. Thoughts to the homeless the poor b*stards have to go through so much horrific weather in the winter.
