Wind storms (again)

Sick of it. Just a constant storm down here in Cambs. I have some tarpaulin over my shed roof as I never finished it. That’s up like a parachute currently. It’s tie-ropes are straining like Boris Johnson’s shirt buttons.

Just off for another 50mph+ wind-assisted bike ride to graft.

Just down the road from you. I was away for a long weekend so was worried when I got home last night but the house survived even though the wheelie bins weren't where I left them and the garden furniture is all over the place and the BBQ is upside down. Having a better look this morning, there are a few fence panels down in neighbours' gardens. My panels are still standing as I only had them replaced a few years ago.

Saw an Aer Lingus plane fly overhead about 15 mins ago. Didn't know of any into NCL at the moment so checked it out and it's been diverted from Manchester. Originated in Jamaica.

So assume wind must be bad over there again too for it to be diverted.

Kitchen door rattling like a bugger so I go upstairs to find she has only opened a bedroom window to allow a breeze to dry the washing, and when I say breeze I mean gale. Instead of opening the window that would be pushed shut if caught by a rogue breeze she opened the other side that could have been flung off its hinges. Completely naffing oblivious!

Yesterday and today has been the windiest this year for us. We’re about as far away from the coast as possible (DE13, burton on Trent).

I was expecting havoc during storm Eunice but there were only a few hours that were noticeable.
