"No arguments with the red card though. With Coloccini it is worth stating that he is not a malicious player. It was frustrating afternoon for him. I think Elmander was going to do him for pace. I don't think there is maliciousness in it."

Errrr, isn't that the very definition of malicious? Elmander was ripping him a new one, so he tried to break his nose. He's turning into a bit of a Nazi apologist in Mr Houghton.

Whether he is a malicious player or not is beside the point. He acted maliciously in this instance, and deserves all the punishment that comes his way. There's an argument Nolan should be banned retrospectively as well for another off the ball incident during the game. There was plenty of malice and intent on his face.

first time ive seen the williamson incident today and imo he had absolutely no reason to go in like that, if the ball got played to elmander than he mite have an excuse but the ball was nowhere near, shirley another ban on its way.

the barcodes will be crying!! its one big witch hunt
they might realise their not everyones second favourite team anymore!

Cockney Mafia oot!!!

Bring back Dennis Wise

Tbh Nolan launched an assault on the same guy. I have no idea why they targeted Elmander as they did.

3 game ban for him i think! thats him collocini & barton missing for chelsea o dear. chelsea will be wanting to hammer some one shortly hopes its them!

Hopefully he'll dispute it and get a 6 game ban:lol:

It's the only way to get rid of thugs like this though, retrospective action so they know if they do it again they will be found out and banned for longer.

Remember Turner's 3 match ban after the incident at City

Is Hughton sending his players out with the aim of taking out the 'danger' man?

Collocini elbowed one of our lads in the opening 20 mins, and Tiote should have seen red for a stud up challange on Malbranque

Bizarelly Carroll is probably their 'cleanest' player on the pitch... They're a horrible, horrible team.

There's a huge difference between being competitive and challenging for every 50/50 and what seems to be deliberately going to out to hurt players...

Just on Hughton's comment that Coloccini is not a malicious player. The use of the elbow was certainly malicious. I seem to recall a game last year where he poleaxed someone in an aerial challenge with a leading arm/elbow. Also, watch Argentina v Paraguay World Cup qualifier a couple of years back and put 2 upper-cuts into an opposing strikers stomach as they challenged. So, he certainly has a record for it.

oh dear, Sol Campbell and Steven Taylor at the back against Chelsea!

Wonder how the Chronic will put a positive spin on their top two centre backs getting 3 game bans from the same game

I really can't wait for the reaction from our 'resident Mags'

Come on RFE and Shints, is Chris Who'ton turning into a gonk?

Hughton seems to be a 'yes' man... Get the feeling that it's Barton, Noland and Carroll running the show
