Will Still (managerial suggestion)

Getting Still would undoubtedly be a coup. He has a reputation as a very promising head coach. Weirdly, though, there’s a part of me that wonders what Hellberg would be like. It feels like the players we sign are intelligent and capable of taking on complex tactical input. Maybe that’s part of why TM has gone (the tendency to go down the simple ‘give it to the wingers and let them cook’ route). From the few articles I read about Still and Hellberg I did wonder if the Swede is the more innovative tactically. Still would represent an excellent sign of ambition, though, which is reassuring.

The French fuckers need a little regional geography lesson.
One of the lads who run it is English but it mainly just repeats French articles translated.
As I refuse to have sky permanently I end up watching a lot of French football on tnt/bt and found it a while back and it’s a decent source to dip into during games regarding the two teams playing. They do original interviews as I think they fancy being proper journos and it probably gets them into games for nowt anarl.

Just thought it was the ghost of Rodger Whittacker with the reference to Tyneside. Got a nephew who does similar things with interviews for magazines. Would appear you can be whatever you want these days - apprenticeships/training fuck that I'm going to be an astronaut.

He is.

Still doesn’t seem particularly ground-breaking, whereas Hellberg seems to be a De Zerbi disciple.

Can’t argue with Still’s results though and I’m not sure about tactical complexity with the young-uns.

Aye. There’s a world of opportunity out there these days for kids with a bit of vision and imagination no matter where they live. Apart from Ryhope obviously.

I suspect that’s why it’s a five year project.

Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has reportedly already held discussions with the 31-year-old manager but is expected to meet Still for further talks on Monday. That's according to the French publication, L'Equipe.

So next Monday then after both weekend games, or date error?

Have you read the article it states Sunderland have won2 in 2 v Preston and Leeds 🤣
