Will Still (managerial suggestion)

At the end of the 2021–22 season, Still got a call back from Reims, to go back to the Ligue 1 side as an assistant manager.[7] After García was sacked on 13 October 2022, Still took over as caretaker manager. Following an undefeated stretch of five games, he was appointed as manager for the rest of the 2022–23 season...

Just over a year ago he was basically in Doddsy's position at a shit French team. I'm not sure about him tbh, flavour of the month but done nowt really and zero experience in England.

I don't get why he would lay out his plans though to get us to the Premier League if he wasn't interested in it. He would be joining mid season but we are sitting 6th with a chance of the playoffs plus he gets the whole pre season to work on things for next season whether we are up or not. Still could be gone in the summer, any other club can come in for him, I don't know what is going on behind the scenes but I think this would be our best chance to get him before the summer comes where the release clause activates.
Where has the info about his plans come from? That sounds like it could be an interview question btw

People said the exact same last season about the exact same players. Completely unnecessary bedwetting based on nothing, and therefore not 'realistic' at all, just pure speculation.

It's hardly unrealistic to suggest that Clarke will be off in the summer and that Ballard and Neil will attract serious interest man

All this speculation and nothing concrete confirmed or denied from either us or Still as far as I've read.

It boils down to 2 things.
If Still wants the Job and we want him it'll happen.

Reims can twist and moan about him initiating contact through his agent and being interviewed all they want but if he wants away and he's our top choice it'll go through. The finer details such as compensation will be ironed out. They have no option but to reluctantly let him go.

The snake wanted to go to Stoke and Stoke wanted the snake. There was nothing we could do about it. Same situation here. If Sunderland and Still both want it to happen it will happen.

So in summary we want Still. He is interested enough to have met us. His club aren’t very happy.
Sounds like a fairly standard set of circumstances for managers moving on.
Two or three outcomes- Still gets a better deal at Reimms. We agree to pay the full ( possibly now greater)compensation and he’s our new manager or we say no, Reims don’t budge and have a very unhappy manager. Time will tell.
Far from over. We and it appears he is interested. Until we have a new manager confirmed it is still on for Still.

I think we are going to hear more over the next couple of days Dodds will be in charge V Bristol City and it may be announced that he is leaving and Will Still manages his last game for Reims Saturday. Still to be in charge for Coventry game.

Are we now Stoke and Still is the snake?
