Will Still (managerial suggestion)

I think what it means is he has the final say in recruitment, so basically all the work will be done and they will have a shortlist and say to him “ok which do you prefer from them”. I really can’t see them tearing up the modal to suit one coach and not others. I agree he will be poached eventually but that is where we are now, it is no different with the players. BUT for him to be poached then he has to have done a gone job here. If he takes us to the Premier League and established then we have gone to the next level.
Yeah I'm totally fine with him being potentially poached down the line for the exact reason you outline. Still don't want him to have final say, though. Signings are made for a multitude of reasons and that long term strategy doesn't sit with the HC for me. He should absolutely have input, but the decision to invest in a player should ultimately be a club one IMO. Any player contract will likely be longer than the tenure of a HC.

Comes across very well on this podcast.
Football is more or less his life from the sound of it

A month seemingly as that's what they've given Galtier's wage in those terms
That is crazy if it is only £300 odd per week. Well if that was true I don't see what the problem is with paying the contract up.

Edit 3k not £300, wouldn't want me as your accountant mind.

The way that is written would suggest it is 18,500 euros per month.
Well of known what he’s on before discussing terms
The agent will of let us know for a start
You can see this bloke football is his life, it’s massive opportunity for him, he does well here sky will be limit for him long term
It will all be on the compo side now hopefully we get it done

Maybe my use of final say in transfers was wrong. That article from France stated he would be heavily involved. So was Mowbray even though he did not have the final say.

16k a year? Very much doubt that.
He’s was on the coaching minimum wage for France which was a little above SMIC, at around €18600 per year. According to the French press he signed a new deal in July which took him to c. €225,000 per year. Which is roughly 3% of what PSG pay… but obvs still an improvement. French law has various liability caps for situations like this (which I won’t pretend to understand), but with his deal (apparently) running to Summer 2026, I suspect the worst case would be 2.5 x 225k; however if there is a release clause in Summer 24 then, I suspect there would be room for manoeuvre on this fee…

The more negative things I hear about him the less I am mad about him coming.

I think he’s going to be one of the worst things to happen to us. We need to steer clear of this bullet. A lot of what people are saying tells me he’s very politically motivated. He engineers situations to suit his own interests. I think we should be going for a more experienced English coach like Nigel Adkins or someone similar. They are a safe bet and won’t take us for a ride like Will Still is.

You are a proper mentalist aren’t you ?

Worth using some of the Stewart cash to pay Still's compensation, IMO.

We'd think nothing of spending it on a player with no guarantee of success, so why not do the same with a manager who everyone feels would be a coup?
I still think we're getting diddled of the bloke.

Aye, seems too good to be true like

Can just see "Still signs new 4 year deal at Reims" headlines incoming.
