Will Still (managerial suggestion)

he will understand what a good player is and will be able to spot them, it's part of his job as a head coach, he will be in the recruitment meetings just like TM was and can give his input.
how do we know he can do tjat? Unlike Mowbray he has neevr managed a professional football team...

A say in recruitment... maybe they just didn't trust Mowbray?
He will have a decent knowledge of the French and Belgian Leagues. We'd be silly not to take on board any possible suggestions. As long as the data supports the signings and the deal is right I don't see why Speakman wouldn't be open to his recommendations.

We might have to buy out his contract it says if we want him.

From France: Stade de Reims source gives club's stance on possible Will Still to Sunderland move - Sport Witness

How much is he on though a week, can't be huge if we are wanting him. Will we pay it up until 2025 to get him now or wait until the summer to activate a release clause?

All the French managers' salaries were leaked earlier this year. He's on £16,000 (not a typo, nor missing a zero).

On Monday, Still ‘discreetly travelled’ to England to hold talks with the Black Cats’ leaders, where he presented his project for the Championship side.
This is echoed by RMC Sport, who add Sunderland would offer Still a ‘real influence’ with recruitment, to help them return to the Premier League. The manager has a contract until 2025 and the French club have to agreed to let him go on coition they’re paid.

Sunderland haven’t yet made the final decision and L’Equipe say they’ll have to pay a fee to Reims if they decide to go ahead with Still.

Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot and director Mathieu Lacour are tough negotiators. The Black Cats have to find a way to convince them, if they want to bring Still to the club.

This is the latest news from France where it appears he is ready to pack his bags and Reims are prepared to allow him to leave provided Sunderland pay a hefty compensation fee.
Hmm. While I didn't love the sniping from Mowbray and Neil regarding transfers (given it was a job that they knowingly signed up for), I don't think the remedy is to go back to the muddled, dysfunctional version of the DoF system we had when Congerton was here. Coaches should coach IMO. There's enough work to do with that without 'putting their stamp' on the recruitment too. Making decisions like that only works when the coach is gonna be there for a long, long time. Truth is, if Still performs as well as the hype indicates, he'll probably be getting poached.

mowbray had a say in recruitment..how else do you explain bardkey dack.
Will Still has nno experience of recruiting players..
The bard has the key.
Explain nno without saying no.
Dack rhymes with cack and that means it rhymes with back.
The bard is Shakespeare, Still commonly known as Will.
So, Will will be Still as someone comes back...

... the new manager will be Keane, but not Will as he plays still.

The answer is Roy.

Yeah he's just above the minimum wage for Ligue 1 coaches I believe. Kinda makes sense if Reims were allowed to accumulate nearly £500k in fines because of his lack of qualifications.
