Will Still - Lens Manager

I just think it makes them look worse when nothing happens. If Speakman wanted to avoid questions he'd be better off saying he had the shits. From the atmosphere in the room they'd have to be pretty good actors if it was all just a ruse to get Speakman out of a tight spot, but who knows. Either way let's just hope they eventually get the right person in. With players still away, and the summer window normally taking a while to get going (added to the fact that the head coach won't be the only person with input into signings, so plenty of work can be ongoing) I don't think it's a disaster at present, but they need to get the appointment right and they really don't want to be dragging it long into June
Thought KLD was in charge?

I'd still say it's not normal for a club to not have a permanent manager close to 100 days after sacking the last one.

No, because that would be mental. You can’t just say you’re close to an appointment if you’re not.

In theory allowing your nearest rivals to take over your home end and redecorate it in their colours is mental. In theory going three windows without signing a striker who’s finished his SATS is mental.

But to coin a Tony Wilson phrase….this is Sunderland, we do things differently here.

I'll probably be hopelessly wrong but he strikes me as the next Curbishley, always thinking he can get a better job than the ones he's got a chance of getting so he'll turn them down, not get the ones he really wants, and end up struggling to get anything. Probably get the Leicester job tomorrow mind
Leicester players apparently don't want him either due to his Notts Forrest connections.

Another poster ignoring the fact we all knew vast majority of those 100 days we weren’t going to appoint a manager. The club told us.
That doesn't answer my post though in that whether we knew or not, it's not a normal situation for a club of this level to be in.
