Will Still - Lens Manager

Is he not?

People pissing their pants, all that has been happening is negotiations. It is perfectly normal. So how can we say he isn't bought into coming here?
SSN were pretty direct and clear when they said Will Still was out of the running for the job. I am inclined to believe it. Not sure we should be going cap in hand to someone who doesn't want to come. Of course, it all depends on what the terms of the deal were, but let's be honest, Speakman has had since mid-February to get this over the line and he's ballsed it right up.

Do we really want someone who's not bought in to coming here? All of our eggs appear to be in the Will Still basket, much like they were in the Nazariy Rusyn basket when we needed an experienced striker last summer.

It was Naz's club that were playing hard ball, not Naz, wasn't it?

I think if we get a decent holidng midfielder this Summer, we'll see the best of him this season. It'll allow our attacking/creative players to play a lot more freely, and he should get more opportunities.

I think he wants to come here, but wants assurances to back room staff and maybe some say in player incomings/outgoings. He may want some experience among the first team, which goes against what the clubhas been doing recently.

If I was a head coach with any reputation, I'd be asking the same things from the club. Is he just supposed to roll up and let Speakman and Dodds do their thing?....f#ck that.

Hopefully, IF discussions are still ongoing, it means taht Still has made the club bend on the model on which they've been so focused on and thats seen us go backwards recently.

So it looks like we are waiting on Still or Lens to decide whether they want him or not? All whilst we look on hoping Lens don't go for him, not sure that is the right thing to do. If he wanted to be here, he would have took the job, his mind is on Lens, not sure I would want him after that. I want someone who is going to be committed and do well here, I have the feeling his eye will be wandering elsewhere in a few months down the line.

What’s the score like? I’ve been off the board a couple of days, come back and there’s about 200 new pages and it seems like we’re back on?

In all fairness, the reason it has taken this long is because Still is/was the guy. Hence why he stuck Reims on the back burner and ultimately left/got sacked.

It’s only since the rest of Europe have fancied a change in manager that has thrown complications. We’ve literally thrown everything we can at the guy including knocking Dodds and Co Down the pecking order.

The club haven’t ballsed this up, they’ve just ran out of runway on what is viable. It doesn’t mean it isn’t enough though.

Call me a cynic, but I'm fairly certain that his mind would have been made up based on Lens playing Champions League football, and offering more money, rather than SAFC having Dodds as a coach.

It's borderline ridiculous to think otherwise.

All part of the negotiations, either side "leak" stuff to push the negotiations along. Nowhere has it ever been stated that he wasn't bought into it. This is where issues are caused with our fans, they look at him in a negative way before he is even hired (if he comes!). Not bought into it...touting himself around...this...that...etc...

How has Speakman ballsed it right up?

Lens have said they still have a selection process with multiple managers in mind. Suggests it's not as 'done deal' as was reported.

Mind, it can't come as a surprise they're playing coy with it. They're not going to announce it's him until it's 100% done.

I still think he's gone to Lens.
