Will Spurs get 61,000 crowds?

I can chat shit and lie as well mate, but I don't need to about Spurs, every single Home game this season has sold to members only and goes to a ballot to our Bronze and Lillywhite members, the only way YOU could get in is if you are an official club member or you buy a ticket from StubHub or from a tout apart from that you are a liar.

I just sold 2 spare tickets for our Southampton game in March today for £250.00 but tickets are really easy to get aren't they mate.

FV for those tickets would be £32? Ripping off other spurs fans by the sum of 200 quid is disgusting

And the same happens at your place already and the problem will be much much worse when you get new ground

I'm not denying it

We're looking at taking season tickets back that aren't used

Spurs will be moving/expanding at just the right time. The past 10 years they have gone from strength to strength and apart from a blip in 2008 and 09, they have been top 4 contenders or better. Quite different to West Ham who got carried away last season with their first decent season since 2002, so they will struggle to maintain the crowds at the Olympic Stadium.

Spurs have always had potential for big support when their Stadium has allowed it and post war have only dropped as low as 20,000 once, when other big clubs, most notably Chelsea, have had quite a few sub 15,000 crowds in the early 80's. Amazingly their 2nd highest ever average attendance was around 54,000 in the 2nd division, and they averaged over 50,000 for 3 years running.

I do think Spurs have a good support, but being a London club, they have completely different circumstances in being able to attract supporters to their matches that other clubs outside of London don't have the luxury of. They are also lucky that they are flying high just at the right time. They haven't always sold out WHL and unless I am missing something with the Capacity, then they quite often only had high 20k there throughout the 90's. I think if they were the club they were pre 2006, then like most, they would be able to attract huge crowds for the big games, but would struggle when playing the likes of Bournemouth and Hull at home if finishing midtable.

Generally a good post mate, but you wouldn't necessarily know that for 5 or 6 of those years in the 90's Spurs had to completely close the East Stand, the North Stand, and the South Stand as they were either fully Renovated East Stand or completely rebuilt South and North Stands apart from that our averages were in the mid 30ks as they are now.

Just reading an interview with Redknapp on the BBC there, reckons Spurs will win the title in 3-4 years and the new stadium will play a big part of it (which means they'll only have 2 years to win it by the time the ground is finished by his reckoning).

The only way I can see it is if at least 5-10 thousand are day trippers every match.

EDIT; not sure about that tunnel bar either mind

If Pocchetino stays and they continue to build I can see them filling the place no problem.

Fair enough, I did think there may have been something to that as they were all in the 27,000 region. I have never liked Spurs much if I am being honest but in the past few years, I have gained some new respect with the way they have transformed the team in to a very good side, with some great English players. They have gone about is in a much more respectable way than Chelsea who may go on to become the 3rd most successful club in the country in the next 10-15 years.

As I said, the stadium move is coming at a perfect time and I think if they get it right Spurs can challenge Arsenal and possibly overtake them. It will be difficult to win the league with the money Chelsea and Man City have, but Spurs are likely to be a top 4 side for years now. I am hoping if our stadium move goes to plan at the docks, we will be able to overtake our neighbours, and at the very least challenge them on the pitch.

I also think it's looking likely that with the Stadium moves and expansions, it is going to be hard for anyone outside of the 4 big London clubs, 2 Manchester clubs and the 2 Merseyside ones to break in to that group. I could be talking complete rubbish given how Leicester did last season, but that is just the way I see it going.

The comment about 60,000 being the new norm sounds like it could be true to me. Football is as popular as ever these days, at least in the top flight.

you charged your fellow fans 125 quid a ticket? what's wrong with you? speaks volumes of your morals if you think it is acceptable to rip your fellow fans off for monetary profit. i could imagine you asking for the 50p to cover the 2nd class stamp as well

Still no change there really as the 2nd verse of old song goes

he stands at the back of the shelf

tbf some of what essex y** has said carries weight. massively. however, unless those tickets cost 125, then he is using his club as a cash cow. despicable conduct.

Fulham were talking about ground expansion when they were in the Premiership. Of course they will get 60,000.

I would be interested to see what happens to West Ham's crowds though. New ground factor might wear off there particularly as it's not much fun
