Will ossilating cutter cut through a door lock

I used a locksmith a few months ago and only paid around £40. Based in Roker I think if you want the details. He was brilliant tbf.

Basically our lass have fucked the lock on the front door this morning and the key is just spinning , I can get an ossilating cutter down the gap in the door will it get through the lock latch thing? Refuse to pay 120 quid for a locksmith

Actually, if you wait 10 minutes, ill tell you. I'm sure I have an old dead lock in the garage. I'll see if the blade makes any mark on it.

A mortice lock?
A bit more tricky then, where you need to drill is where the door is.
Could you get a thin cutting disk on an angle grinder in there.
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking is a canny gap can actually see the lock

Thanks mate I’ve seen one of my mates cut my old dead lock off with a mains saw one that’s like a sword fish

Am I missing something here or can you not just gan in the back door / patio doors. Surely theres more than one door to the house

If there’s a canny gap the block bit of the lock that locates in the frame might only catch a little bit so could you not try using a jemmy bar to try n prize the block out of the keep while pulling the door

I think he meant a reciprocating saw. As you say a multi tool would be a bit of a job to go through a lock
Aye one of them but I’ve got a Bosch’s ossilating cutter too
It flew through the brass (unsurprisingly) but came to a standstill when it hit the first of the two steel cores that run through it.

Thanks mate don’t think it’s got them cores like it’s just brass solid
