Will Grigg article in The Athletic

If only Keane were to replace Parky. Then Fulwell73 could video Roy "chatting🤣 " to Grigg...

The only time I saw the real Grigg was when Power slotted it through to him against Bristol Rovers.

Our lack of creativity is criminal and it's worrying after all of this time players within our club think that there is a want for Wyke like physical presence.
Are you hoping for Grigg to be 90s style poacher where the team is set up for him and he is expected to do nothing except try and get on the end of chances? He has no pace, energy, ability to press, no strength or hold up play, no creativity, no aerial ability, no character, unwilling to run channels. Strikers, even at league one level need to offer more to the team. The game has changed.
As for Wyke he doesn't have physical presence. He's useless.

He mentions Quinn and Phillips - we were playing some good football in those days mind.

For the record I haven't heard many say lets lump it up to a tub of lard mind. I hate this fans issue - we are no different to any fan who wants their team to do well and play reasonable football.

There you have it then he basically gave up, not saying for a second that the club has helped him because we have played shite football with very few chances created but he's basically admitting he just stopped trying when he realised we weren't going to give him a number 10, which we obviously should have done like.

Will Grigg is clearly a bit of a bellwhiff with absolutely no self-awareness but he’s spot on about our lack of creativity. We’ve had two years of bad football practice throughout the club and frauds like Ross and Parkinson telling us that the route to promotion lay in being more defensive and getting more clean sheets. We’re hideously dated in our approach.
Strikers are expected to create chances now, its 2020. Whether that be from agressive pressing, using physical attributes or by clever passes or dribbling. Don't expect a player in League one to tick all of them boxes but they need to do something to help the team create chances. So when he is being critical of creativity he is also criticising himself IMO.

I'm not having a go at fans, but if we pass backwards there is a large number who start getting frustrated and say get it forwards.

I’m one of a few of fans who have constantly wanted to give him another chance for him to come good as he has the record, once he starts scoring he will get going and we aren't playing his type of football. That interview feels like a slap in the face. He must have one of the longest contracts at the club and basically said he didn't want to come. Ive said on here a few times that people were looking into it too much when he didnt celebrate, clearly i was wrong. Granted we dont play his still of football but there were a number of howlers which were very hard to defend.

From day 1 he didn’t look like he wanted to be here, he’ll fuck off hopefully asap
We should actually speak with or interview prospective signings to ascertain if they actually want to be at SAFC. This smacks of incompetence on SAFC’s part . The only real winners are agents in these deals

Sayyyyyy whattttt!!!!

Fair play haha

Let's start again...I am willing to slag off when it is due but I am also defensive when I feel the club is unduly attacked. Its personal to me and not directly at you. I have a siege mentality for my club.

We will get even less for him now. Mind you, I doubt we would have got anything anyway as any ā€˜fee’ will be used to balance the ridiculous wages he is on.

I f***ing hate it when players mention Quinn and Phillips as if we lumped it up to Quinn and Phillips rapped in knock downs. We had wingers, attacking full backs and a capable midfield. They go on as if we’re peak Tony Paulis at Stoke.

The whole interview is bizarre. I agree with him that our team hasn’t been set up for him to score at any point. But he’s missed more than that one chance. He didn’t look fit and/or interested for plenty of games under both managers. Nick f***ing Powell is hardly Zidane.

He’s f***ing under contract, it’s at the very least massively unprofessional. Get the fucker fined, fine him for every single little thing and then peddle him ASAP.
