Recall his opening miss

And? Players miss chances, it happens. His point about us having no creativity is spot on, it was lacking under Ross and it's been lacking in the season just gone too. If he was saying how amazing it is being here and how good the fans are people would moan it was usual footballer bullshit.

I rest my case you hypocrite

Look at the chance he missed again

He's a shite striker another one in the piss taking party

The chance our midfield created for him was superb m

Bad workman always blames his tools

I'd love to know how many shots at goal he's had since he's joined. Whether we create loads or not, he's had a boat load of chances he's scuffed that any striker would be ashamed of.

The whole I can handle the pressure of playing in front of big crowds is an interesting one.
Grigg says he’s played for his country and occasionally in cup ties in front of large attendances but that’s very different from playing in front of 30k + who expect you to score regularly.
Some players would thrive on that, they’d love the sense of responsibility and the chance of becoming a fans hero.
Others, and Grigg definitely falls into this category, visibly shrunk under the pressure. That first glaring miss seemed to haunt him and he seemed to lose interest, energy until he became almost an embarrassment to watch in a Sunderland shirt.
For the benefit of all parties he needs to go this summer.
He doesn’t have what it takes to play for this club.

This. He's made perfectly sensible comments about our style of play. He might have an inflated sense of his own ability, but that's all. Everything else is pretty much spot on. Our approach, style and setup is crap and anachronistic. That's why we are in the lowest position the club has ever been. I'm pretty sure that Grigg would score goals in a team that could actually play football.

Agree 100%.

He's absolutely spot on when he says we create nowt, mind. The midfield is and was awful. At least he's being honest and not trying to be a lick arse.
That parts true but as a striker if your not getting chances you have to try to work the back 4. Move them about and try to create for yourself. Make yourself a target for the rest of your team. Grigg did none of that and only hid. He's now trying to deflect and the fact he identifies with J r says it all. HD may have ability but his attitude means he'll never make it at a club the size of ours.

Clearly off, unless we jettison Parkinson (unlikely, but fingers crossed). Dread to think the loss we’ll make on him.

I also strongly dispute the assumption that we all want a long ball team just because Quinny was a good player.

If this is what outsiders genuinely think then it probably explains Donald’s silly appointment of Parkinson.

It's all the same stuff fans on here moan about, now swap Grigg for O'Nien making those comments and the responses change.

Couldn't careless if I sound deluded, but the bloke never has and never will play for a bigger club than Sunderland. However he has shown not one bit of desire while being here. Also another one shifting blame onto fans, an easy get out clause. All of this tells you exactly what kind of individual we're talking about here. Wanker.

Well that's an absolute lie, the last game I was at prior to moving overseas was Coventry at home where Grigg constantly worked their back 4, closing them down. The nearest players were a good 20-30 yards further back from him, absolute waste of time doing that if the team aren't doing it as a whole.

Has he missed chances, absolutely, no denying that. Have we played a style of football that gets the best out of him and was he even wanted by the manager, absolutely not.
Why he’s shit

In that case why bother at all, the entire squad is shit.

The only time I saw the real Grigg was when Power slotted it through to him against Bristol Rovers.

Our lack of creativity is criminal and it's worrying after all of this time players within our club think that there is a want for Wyke like physical presence.

Seems like he was never interested in being here and nothing we did would make any difference.
