Don't be daft. Have you any idea how much we spent to get a footballer rather than a Metro Centre games addict?
Do you realise how much we spent week on week to give Rodwell access to SAFC saunas and treatment tables as well as time off on match days?
Yes, Grigg was a waste of money but as far as I know, every time he was asked to he at least ran on to the pitch and whilst there made a small attempt or two at striving to get the ball and do something useful with it. Grigg has been a waste of money but I'd rather have had him for a year than Rodwell for a week. If you are talking quotients, mine is probably a fair comparison.

Take into consideration our income when we had Roswell, and what our income is now, it will be a lot closer

He's scored goals whereever he's been, apart from here. With Will Grigg for me if he was missing chance after chance Id blame him but he doesnt get chances. He's never been known for smashing them in with his head from the halfway line, yet thats normally how we expect him to score... As we seem to just smash the ball in his general direction on the half way line.

If Parkinson isnt going to change how we play to suit him he has to go though, its pointless for both parties.

There's a bit of both. Are we a creative side who fashion loads of chances for our strikers? No. But that being said we didn't do it for Maja either and he still banged them in. He worked, he moved, he was lethal when the ball came to him. Half the time Grigg just doesn't seem arsed, isn't making runs, isn't trying to find space. That's always going to affect how many you score. If he never wanted to be here then that's probably why, but he's a grown man and should have just said no. Doesn't want to be here but happy to take the money, mint

Not as much of a dick as Rodwell obviously but a similarly unsuccessful big money buy.

Who mentioned top 5? I said one of the worst..... Anyway why wouldn't he get in amongst that lot?

Cause pound for pound he took nowhere near the same amount out of Sunderland as the three i mentioned. Rodwell with fee signing on fee and wages probs took awa 25m out the club. Will Grigg is not even on the same page as him

If you read any article by a player who was at Sunderland and praises Jack f***ing Rodwell, you know there is something wrong with the twat

100% correct....Incomprehensible comments from Grigg about Rodwell.."everyone I've ever spoken to says great things about Jack"...Absolute nonsense to insult us all with such tactless tripe..Rodwell stole a wage from us for almost 4 seasons...I sincerely hope Grigg does not loiter that long, especially as he has clearly no desire to be at SAFC.

Don't get me wrong I don't think he ever wanted to come and was settled in the North West, but he's hardly had any service. We have been woeful at chance creation.

It’s a very odd interview to give when still employed by the club. He’s signed his own death sentence by i) openly criticising the managers tactics ii) saluting the great Jack Rodwell and iii) stating he didn’t want to come

if you’re PP I’m sure he will be having words and maybe he already told him to find a new club

I’m hoping it means he’s already effectively gone. If he isn’t it’s effectively a transfer request without actually making one.

But when I say 'one of' in the context of £3m at this level, when that blows any transfer money we had and he literally looked like he didn't want to be here from the start.... Of course he's one of our worst signings.

We haven't created as many chances as we'd like. Our target was automatic promotion and it is very likely that we need to create and score more if we are to achieve that.

Lets set the record straight. People are going on like we create nothing.

We have finished 5th and 8th and score goals regularly. We are not a struggling team at this level. We are usually on the front foot. It's not like Grigg has been playing for a struggling team like altidore, graham, fletcher etc.
Our XG shows only 5 or 6 teams create more/higher quality of chances!

We failed to score in 47% of our away games so that needs to addressed

He definitely has a point regarding our lack of creativity and the dire style of football we've employed under both Ross and Parkinson but he's got to take a big share of responsibility as well. His little cameo off the bench at home to Portsmouth earlier in the season was absolutely pathetic, was brought on in the 81st minute and was visibly blowing out of his arse within minutes.

Of course it does, not disputing that.

Will Grigg is talking like he's walked into a struggling team who hardly create anything. That simply isn't true. Look at our XG stats and our league positions.

Will Grigg offers nothing to the team if he isn't scoring. No physical presence, ability to unsettle defences by pressing, no desire to run the channels, poor link up play, np signs of any clever passing or dribbling. He can't create chances for himself or others so is a player that you can judge on solely goals.

Will Grigg will score goals but it is very conditional.
You need to have:

1)elite level league one attacking players
(not average or above average) People of the calibre of nick powell.

2) You need to set the team up to exactly the way he wants you to, make him the absolute focal point, or he doesn't want to know.

Otherwise he simply won't score goals. Ask Brentford fans.

He doesn't have a point. He's playing for a good league one team, not a struggling team. Unfortunately for us not good enough to get promoted. But only half a dozen teams have created more in last 2 seasons.

As a percentage of income, he’s exactly the f***ing same.

His transfer fee alone is about 10% of our current annual income. Same as Rodwell.
