It'd be great if Lovelys could be expanded into a restaurant.

Isn't the butchers across from the B&M the one where a man was found dead in the flat above and had been there a while?

If there was somebody found dead upstairs it had nowt to do with him closing down. He got a £7k tax bill just before Christmas and the bank wouldn't lend him the money to pay so he had no choice but to cease trading.

That's a bit shite considering it was a decent butchers.

Wonder where the body went? Probably the other (shit) butchers opposite Barclays.

I'll never get a 'belly buster' there again. (the bastards used to be massive anyway)

Have pass will travel. Arrived in Houghton just around teatime yesterday and to get a gauge for the clientelle had a swifty in the White Lion (Westons Old Rosie 7.3% £2.85 a pint). Few in but not what has been described prior on this post.
Walked up the hill to the Wild Boar and was quite plesently surpised. Nice bar, lovely amount of ales, real cider in the fridge. Six staff on all talking. After about 5 mins one says Have u been served?.
Ordered the Maxim Wild Boar Bitter 4.2% a special done for the pub. Tastes like watered down double.
Two lads walk in and get challenged for 'wearing trackies' and promptly hoyed out. Company policy. So good I stopped for another (Westons Marcle Hill) before getting the bus back to civilisation and the Vaults.

The Wild Boar was spot on in there last week did not taste like DM at all.

Was in there last night. Very nice inside, and not rough at all. Perhaps it had something to do with the bouncers on. Look around and there were people who normally get in the Golden, Brit, Burn and Rugby Club so they might take a bit of a bashing.

Also, dropped the bandit on me way out. Which was nice.
