Wigan deducted more points

Its a 4 point deduction, with another 4 points to be deducted if they are late again.

The extra 3 point deduction for this season is utterly pointless, and is a cop-out by the EFL. How Wigan fans can claim the EFL discriminate against them after that non-punishment is laughable. Whats the bloody point in knocking 3 more points off a side that finished in the bottom three? If the EFL really wanted to get tough, they'd have reinstated the 3 points deducted last month and deducted 10 points for next season, with a further 4 suspended. Perhaps @Barnsley could appeal and then ask Wigan to pay their appeal fee (again)!

On the plus side, Bolton will be in the same league (assuming Wigan make it to August), so perhaps @dannyt, @Midas can go on their board and try and create a rivalry with a club that might give a shit.

I think its difficult though, there are fan winners in the game of Bat shit football owners, not too long ago Villa were inches from going to the wall, qpr had their time in the sun and forest are currently enjoying themselves, all at the expense of some clubs who are at least trying to be semi practical.

For what its cost other clubs and the harm its done the game in general, I'd argue the punishment needs to be more severe then shown here. Doubt it'd be legal but my preference would be to give the fans ownership of the/a club in the conference.
Imagine this board running a club. There’d be arguments over what color socks to wear.

And if he hasnt got a club by then, Wigan pay him until 31 July or when he signs a contract elsewhere - whichever comes sooner.
well yeah they giove him an extra months money on July 1st or whatever as atermination..but he ceases to be an employee prior to that

Well you’re the resident expert on all things Wigan on here with a rugby-orientated agenda. There’s such a thing as rules Martin, show me where they should’ve deducted your plan from the club, I’m all ears.

I’ve said it for years: after 100yrs or so of professional football in this country every football fan could take a rough guess at a clubs natural place in the English pecking order. Then along came Jack Walker……………now everyone rich or skint thinks they can make something out of nothing. Financial doping has been giving hope and heartache to genuine fans in equal measure ever since.
So it’s Jack Walker’s fault? I’ve got a feeling that a club much closer to home was “financially doping” in the 1950’s. And I’m pretty sure that was before Jack Walker was rich enough to think about buying a football club.

People from Wigan don’t even give a toss about Wigan football club man. Give it a rest.

I'm not sure it was rich individuals pumping money into the club with a bottomless stack of cash like Walker. I think it was money the club were earning as income but there was rules about how it could be used and how it was put through the books etc. That was where our club broke rules.

It’s only you we have a problem with Martin. You are a Wigan Warriors fan pretending he supports Sunderland football club. You come on our boards as ‘Pie Eater’ and ‘Muttywhitedog’ with the sole intention of causing as much trouble as you can. Of course Bolton are our rivals, bloody stupid to pretend otherwise, they built their new stadium right on the Wigan border. We don’t need to go on their forum to try and create a rivalry.

We were pumping cash into the club, and making illegal payments to players. Late 40’s / early 50’s we were 6th or 7th best supported club, yet we were called the Bank of England club and broke records for transfer fees on multiple occasions. Financial doping. We only had the players we did because the directors were happy to fund it, and we were paying wages under the counter.
