Wigan deducted more points

Yes, fair enough. However, it appears Man City may have breached FFP rules for nine seasons and Newcastle United may have lied when they gave assurances that the Saudi state was not really their owners. What sanctions will these two receive? Nowt is my guess. However, let's continue to punish little Wigan, Derby or Reading. Yes, its correct to punish Wigan for not paying their staff but the equivalent sanction foran City would probably be demotion to the Conference and without a doubt Newcastle's owners should be chased out. I won't hold my breath.

The EFL enforces its own rules. The PL doesn't. Simple as that. The EFL is in the right here.

How the hell can these clubs get away with constantly living beyond their means?
Wigan gambled on promotion, succeeded and still ended up fucked financially.
They must have thrown in a few wage increases to their huge league one wages the first time. So Wyke might have went from 10k a week to 15k a week for example.

Owner would have decided not to push on further with the spending and they had fuck all to spend this season, hence their struggles.

Holding back on spending is fair enough, not paying the wages a few times is ridiculous.

I’ve said it for years: after 100yrs or so of professional football in this country every football fan could take a rough guess at a clubs natural place in the English pecking order. Then along came Jack Walker……………now everyone rich or skint thinks they can make something out of nothing. Financial doping has been giving hope and heartache to genuine fans in equal measure ever since.

This 125% of wages will be to make sure that NI & Pension contributions are being met, and that HMRC are paid correctly. As an employer you need to pay across your employee's tax, NI & your employer's NI by 19th of following month, pensions depend on the company but usually a few days later. Technically, all organisations should pay the 💰 over the day they pay people, most use it as an extra 3/4 weeks cashflow money. Looks like Wigan have had that privilege withdrawn
