Wigan deducted more points

Surely the EFL have some culpability in this. The fit and proper tests must be absolutely dog shit.

So because some fans got over excited by a rich owner, them going bust is all fair game? Weird logic that mind

Like I said. Im not going to laugh at people losing their jobs. You go right ahead, i think it's a bit sad imo mate
Reported. For encouraging him to laugh at people losing their jobs.

I keep reading this but I don't see what you expect? He isn't a criminal and proved he had the money to finance it when he bought the club. He's also provided proof of money and put money into the club every time he has been asked for over 2 years until today.

How do you expect the EFL to see into the future and predict what will happen?

What exactly are they meant to check for?

Everyone could see this was going to happen two years ago when they were throwing silly money at the likes of Charlie Wyke. I sympathise with the supporters but the owner is another chancer by the look of it.

Mind the EFL look like muppets for docking them points when the owner passed their fit and proper persons test less than two years ago.

Wonder where those Wigan fans are that were on here defending this shit earlier in the season.

Criminal that these were allowed to take control of the club. EFL fit and proper is a load of bollocks
'Thick as fuck' is a difficult thing for the EFL to legislate for, though. This fella had the money to run Wigan successfully, plus a clean slate to build from. However, his football management team chose to spend beyond the club's natural means on players that had little to no sell-on value. Egged on by the fanbase, they got early success. However, while they enjoyed the sowing part, the reaping part appealed a lot less. There's a lesson in there for all football fans tbh. Football is fucked. Prioritise being able to watch your club in a few years over everything else.

Surely they need to sight a business plan etc… I don’t agree with clubs being deducted points for their owners being shit, they should go after the owners themselves. I’m no fan of Wigan like, but stuff like this is happening all too often in football.

He provided all of that.

If he changes his mind 18 months down the line then what do you expect them to do?

Wigan were on the verge of going bust and he provided everything they asked for.

The inflated wage bill resulted in cash flow issues which meant we could not adhere to the Agreed Decision with the EFL in January. However, everything possible was done to ensure wages were paid. Delays are a common occurrence with overseas transactions, but that is not and cannot be an excuse for late payments.

Still getting the internet banking excuse in there
Sounds like a complete Charlatan

The EFL can't start getting into value-judgements on the quality of the signings that clubs make. That's ultimately what it comes down to for Wigan.

Pay wages on time for a kick off.

I dunno the answer, but I do know too many of these shady fuckers are taking on clubs and then potentially ripping them away from the communities they’ve served for decades or in some cases over a century.

But how can the EFL predict that he will stop paying wages after a year?

People are expecting far too much. Wigan are a private business and its simply impossible to predict if the owner will suddenly stop funding.

I agree with your point though... I just don't see how it's policed.

So what exactly does the efl do if this isn’t sorted, they surely can’t keep deducting them points
