Google Potter’s Chelsea salary and TM’s Sunderland salary and then ask yourself why Potter would work for 10% of his previous salary.Would have thought they would have said something along the lines of 'by mutual consent'.
TBH it is shocking that no appointment appears to be imminent. It looks like they wanted to get rid of TM and just were waiting for a few bad results to use as an excuse. Would have been more honest and sensible just to sack him before an international break if they were intent on a change, as long as they had some one waiting in the wings to try and get a seamless transition.
For me the obvious choice would be Graham Potter, someone who knows the English leagues.
