Why would you sack your manager one day…

and not have his replacement already lined up to start pretty much the day after? F*cking berks.

They knew fine well they wanted rid of TM FFS. Loads of clubs do it I suppose, it’s just mad… 🤷‍♂️
its not good especially going into the busy Xmas period......unless Speakman is now picking the team and tactics and fronting it with the Chuckle brothers (Dodds/Proctor)

.. Spot on mate .. Though I'd get your tin helmet on. You are not allowed allowed to criticise ..
Of course you are allowed to criticise. You have more credibility though if there are facts involved and not conjecture.

Similarly if I 100% did the opposite and backed our owner/board/DoF based on faith alone then I would expect my opinion to be scrutinised.

Liverpool didn’t appoint Klopp the day after Rodgers was sacked.

Arsenal nearly took a month to appoint Arteta.

Newcastle took 3/4 weeks to appoint Howe after Bruce went.

Spurs took 3 months to appoint Ange after conte

This isn’t something to beat SAFC with. As long as it’s an improvement is all that matters
.. But we keep being told by the IKN's on here that he was only a stop-gap ..

How often does a new manager get appointed the day after his previous incumbent is dismissed?

Genuine question by the way, but I can't imagine it's too often..
Watford usually have their next manager sitting waiting in the next room.

Wilder was re-appointed quick sticks this week anarl.

.. I'll not be too hard on you cos I had an Uncle Ned .. But not planning to make sure we didn't have Dods in charge for the important games coming up. Smacks of knee-jurking imo ..

Fairy nuff, but as stated before, it happens at most clubs. Otherwise the caretaker manager would be an extinct species.

This^^^^^^^^^ 100% but dont stop these people whinging, its all their lives revolve around

If they made an immediate appointment folk would moan that we either made a snap judgment and appointed someone willy nilly or that we were talking to candidates behind Mowbrays back while he was still employed.
As much as it's frustrating waiting for news I'd rather the club go through their due dilligamce and take their time getting the right man in.
We may not get Willy Nilly, but might be Will Still.

How would you do that, so you suggest interviewing people while Mowbray was still in position?

.. Give over Wayne, people have genuine concerns about the direction of our club atm .. And if we didn't have a bit of moaning, or over the top positively, we'd have nowt to talk about..

Can’t believe anyone expected any different after last time

They probably had a specific candidate all along days before Mowbray got fired, they just like to play mind games with fans.

As has been alluded to earlier , there will be multiple individual contracts to sort out with coaching staff , it will take time.
Good job we aren’t playing West Brom and Leeds in the next 5 days then isn’t it. Dodds to be 0/4 as a manager

Depending on his contract, they probably had to accommodate Mowbray's wishes. I'd imagine it's a two-way discussion to a point. He may have wanted it to happen with immediate effect, whereas the club might have been angling for a period of transition.

When someone with a normal everyday occupation loses their job it is easy to sympathise with them. With football mangers less so. Do they ever lose out financially?

Is Potter claiming unemployment benefit? No - and TM won’t be either.

You’re sounding like KS *processes* 🤣 it’s very simple they will have a list of who they want, “We are going to replace management, we want you, will you come?” if tjey so no go to next one.
So, we can expect approx the fifth choice just like poor Tone.
