Mate. It's a very complex multi layered issue. I'm not implying boris and the government are complicit. They are dealing with a difficult situation. But they've been put into a manipulated situation where they're just winging it.

Have you heard of operation sickness in 2016 where they held a 3 day dry run simulation of the exact scenario. Which actually bombed and the conclusion was we were inadequate in having enough hospital beds, ventilators and NHS ppe's for staff. Why was this not addressed?

The downgrading did happen as the experts and figures didn't warrant it being a hcid disease.

It’s amazing whenever there’s clear scientific evidence of public health strategies, certain journalists go against the scientific consensus and report an alternative view. For example Peter Hitchens. Suppose you can’t sell newspapers by saying the same thing everyone is saying.
it reminds me of the U-turn the daily mail did on the MMR vaccine. They initially ran story after story about the ‘dangers’ of the vaccine based on some tenuous evidence by one scientist despite the overwhelming scientific consensus of its safety. Following measles outbreaks they’ve since changed their tune.
The danger of trusting a rouge journalist is they can cherry-pick stories that get airtime no matter how wrong they are. When they’ve got social media followers to cater for, who cares if the truth gets in the way of a good story. But given their popularity I’d say journalists have a responsibility in reporting science in the way similar to the peer-review process.
The internet is awash with misinformation, lies, propaganda it doesn’t help a collective public health response when people are propagating falsehoods.

Manipulated situation? Who’s manipulated it?
So they identified they were not prepared and did nothing about it but it happened anyway. Thats what happens when you try and manage risk, sometimes you get it wrong.

Playing devils advocate.
The same establishment people you want to believe implicitly told us....the nhs would have an extra 250m a week to spend, covered up countless illegal activities by saville, Smith, members of royalty possibly, dodgy dossiers, etc etc. Ffs they have rules that don’t allow documents of great interest to the public not to be released in 100 years.

We get lied to and misinformed all the time.

Nowt wrong with questioning things imo.
